Hyams on 104.5 Nashville radio

Hyams just said he expects CBJ to be gone after the next loss. Also said he was surprised by Antone Davis not waiting out the situation because he didn't think CBJ would "survive" this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a much different tune than he has been singing lately.

Listening to Jason Swain this morning along with Fred White. They shared some of the background story leading up to Davis resigning as VFL Coordinator. If White and Swain's account is accurate and I have no reason to doubt them, what happened at Atlanta following the Georgia Tech game was pretty low class on the part of football leadership to Davis. Fred added that UT's VFL coordinator pioneered this type of position and other SEC programs like Georgia have picked it up. He added that the player coordinator for the Dawgs makes $200K per year. Swain said that's over 3 times what Antone Davis was making. At the end of the discussion, Swain said Davis' decision to leave was monetarily driven in order to support his family. I do wonder if post Jones, they could lure Davis back with a hefty pay increase.

That would mean Jones slip would be true

There is no point to wait but if that's their motive then it is what it is

I think Jimmy was referring to something Fulmer had said about firing a coach mid-season. Last time it happened, players started skipping classes, and meetings. With no boss at the helm, the team went into disarray, thus leading to possible infractions.

Antone can be rehired. We've had people at our company who have quit one week and get re-hired a week or two later. When it's a good employee with skills and others really like, it a non-issue. Antone should spend time with family, relax, play some golf, and tell Currie he would love to come back after all this is settled. Currie should call it a 6-8 week leave of absence so, his benefits aren't effected. It can be dubbed the "Butch Jones" clause.

With a dead man what difference does it make?

Because appearance outside of the bubble most UT fans live in is not good if an AD fires a coach midseason for nothing but lack of wins. Especially when the agent of the fired coach is the same for most of the other coaches.

Hyams indicated that Antone had clashed with CBJ and when he went to the UTAD with some specific concerns, he did not feel supported or taken seriously.

There would be a boss though that's why Hoke carries the title Assistant HC

There's a list of reason other than wins....

At this point you could go around the room and ask and I'm sure most would have the same feelings.

This sounds like the most likely scenario. Administration doesn't really care about him or his position.

true on Antone and the money. very low paying role with lots of hours. Antone has been looking for a couple of years for another job. He got an offer that he could not turn down. It just happened to come at this time when it appears Jones time is about over

So that falls on the AD. That position will probably be eliminated (Antoine's position)

Again, confirmed. Not rumors. If you can't come up with any specifics, you're just bitter.

Bitter or what? I want Jones gone as much as the next guy but in reality there's not a thing I can do about it. That said I'm fully prepared to accept one of the two options:

1) Keeping Jones because it's Curries guy
2) hiring Miles, Bobo, or fill in the blank cause it's cheap and easy

It's no secret Jones tried to cover some things up whether or not you want to believe it is up to you

So you can't provide any proof or confirmation or anything.
