Hyams just said he expects CBJ to be gone after the next loss. Also said he was surprised by Antone Davis not waiting out the situation because he didn't think CBJ would "survive" this.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is a much different tune than he has been singing lately.

What part? For the last 3-4 weeks Hyams has been saying that Jones was going to coach at least through the Kentucky game, but didn't expect him to be back in 2018. This board exploded and acted like the babies they are (ie the Haynesworth thread) because of what he said, but he was right.

Regarding the Davis situation, I believe he's just as surprised as anyone

The Antone Davis item is a little confusing. Could you flesh that out a little. Are you saying Hyams now thinks Davis is not resigning?

Botch? Not so much. Beyond ready for him to take his golden parachute and become nothing more than another blip on the radar of UT football.

Reading back, I did not phrase that clearly. I have revised it.

His point was that he thought Antone would basically wait out Butch's imminent departure and was surprised that Antone decided to go on and get out ASAP.

He was saying A Davis should've waited to resign, based on the likelihood of a head coaching change.

Hyams recently said he was here till the end of the season didn't he? ...and that gruden was no way a possibility

If Hyams mentioned Gruden this morning, it was before I tuned in.

But he has been saying that CBJ would finish the season - now saying that he's out after the next loss.

That would mean Jones slip would be true

There is no point to wait but if that's their motive then it is what it is

Except there is the new early signing period, Currie saw first hand what happens when you fire a guy midyear, etc.
