their true colors. They are both almost in tears defending Fulmer right now. Both guys are a disgrace to journalism.

I guess it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round...but I have a hard time understanding how anyone, including Vickie, can defend Fulmer right now.

There's not a single coach in the country who should expect anything but a pink slip if he goes an entire decade without a championship.

That whole thing is a joke. I can't believe the sympathy for one man up there. I know he is a vol, but enough is enough.

I'm listening too and for starters, they're not defending Fulmer. They're simply responding to an incredibly stupid comment by caller.

Hey hat, I have a question.

Is Hamilton just a puppet for the boosters in the background?? It seems as if our Athletic Department isn't ran very much by the university itself. It's just an observation I have made and was wondering if it was correct or needed adjust.

When they rant and rave about last year's appearance in the SEC Title game as if it's some great accomplishment, that's exactly what they are doing. His career record against Saban, Meyer, Tuberville, Miles, and Richt shows exactly how much business Fulmer has in today's SEC. They are nothing but suckups pleasuring their boss, the brilliant Mickey Dearstone. Wilkerson needs to stick to broadcasting meaningless baseball games with 5 people listening and Hyams is best served providing important information, like what Olivia Manning's favorite dessert is.

Everytime someone sense's the end is near for phil, you get a backlash of support. I'am going to be dead before phillip fulmer is not our coach anymore. I've about given up hope.

I don't know of any AD in the country that would make a decision of this magnitude without strong backing from the men with the money.

Yeah i agree. Clearly those guys aren't ready to make a move. Phil has friends in high places clearly.

100% correct. It's the same as any large corporation. Major shareholders will have their say.

I have very little experience listening to these guys, but I heard Hyams doing a call-in show the morning after the Florida game, and he sounded rather critical.

except in the hiring of an OC, evidently that was 100% on Fulmer

OC and Head Coach are two different positions, and our former coordinator left of his own volition, opening up the position. Even so, you can bet Phil received input from his boss on filling the slot, including the potential consequences of picking an absolute bust.

I'm at work so I'm not hearing this but I'm having trouble reconciling these accusations, at least in regard to Hyams. He stated, with no dancing or dodging whatsoever (before the GA game mind you) on the Sunday Sports Source that he estimated the probability of Fulmer keeping his job after this season at 50/50.

Flat out stating that you think a guy has no better than a coin flip's shot at keeping his job just doesn't sound like somebody that's going to be bending over backwards to defend said person's employment.

Now, I have heard calls that are basically "Fulmer is the worst coach in the history of ever and has never won anything (they'll actually say this) or beaten anybody or won a big game yadda yadda..." that are factually inaccurate. Saying this or that in a manner critical of Fulmer is one thing but when some dolt starts issuing historically false edicts from some perceived high and holy vantage point calling them on it falls a bit short of sucking up.

A dead giveaway is when somebody starts any given rant with "Fulmer always" or "Fulmer never". Odds are extremely high you'll be listening to an idiot at that point.

UT's hardly Ford....
It's the same concept. If you think coaches have boosters telling them who to hire as assistants, you have absolutely zero idea of what you're talking about. I'd love to see a booster offer his opinion to Bob Stoops or Rick Pitino about who they should add to their staff. They'd stop laughing just long enough to throw the fool the hell out of their office.

I thought that was the case. I just don't understand why Hamilton takes so much heat when he doesn't have much to do with the hiring and firing of Fulmer. Like I said, just an observation.

Be glad you live in South Florida and can't pick this crap up when going through your presets on your car. I have an XM and listen to FSR now.

I'll check in when they open up the lines hoping someone with an IQ will actually challenge a host instead of fawn at below par media talent.

Pennington said the other day on his time slot, "There is no need to call into this show mad." That's the best radio. When someone calls in pissed with a good opinion to back up the passion.

I litter the board with my disgust of Knoxville media, except Hooker and Adams, those guys aren't bad at all. I'm sure you've heard them on the 10-12 slot.
