Hurts or Bryant?

I don't ask for much especially since we're only allowed to recruit 25 guys per year.

This year I only want the 13 very best D players in the country that fills our biggest needs.

This year I only want the 12 very best O players in the country that fills our biggest needs.

I only want the same things every year except switch the 12 and 13 every year to keep things even and to keep that recruiting going forever.

I don't see that my wish is too much to ask, do you?

There are about 37,000 high schools in the US (26.5k public, 10.5k private). The vast majority of those have football teams.

So that's somewhere well north of 30,000 different programs to survey. Each year. And each program has 50-100 players.

Well over a million data points. Right?

That's a huge lot of information to gather.

The only way it works is networking. Building a big, complex spider web of connections between 30,000+ high school coaches, 2,500+ college coaches (head coaches and assistants), hundreds of thousands of parents, scores of evaluation sites, and uncounted fans/boosters who feed info to college programs. Literally thousands upon thousands of people needed to keep all this info flowing in.

Us adding 1 more isn't going to change a lot.

Just saying. It's a complex business, and a BIG one.

Heh, that sounds totally reasonable to me. *thumbsup*

We'll be fine with the level that Pruitt is recruiting, as long as it continues...for that matter, Butch's level was ok. The biggest thing is keeping them on campus so they can grow and develop and not having 4-5 players not qualify or leave after year one, when environment they were pitched didn't match their on campus experience under Butch. That constant churning under CBJ was a big deal for us having talent gaps all over the team. All Pruitt's first team got on campus (I think). Kentucky is good example of program who recruited average, but kept/developed their team to where their senior laden team is doing pretty well.
