yup weather channel is it. Damage in Bahamas videos are starting to come out. 8-10 ft surge so far.

Filled up the wife's Tahoe in case it turns and we need to bolt.

Good thread though, and I agree. I don't care how much I disagree or argue with anybody here, I want everyone to be safe.

Last year, I replaced windows and doors on our beach shack with hurricane glass. Also, stripped off all old siding and used hurricane straps to connect roof to walls, walls to floors, floors to pilings. Wrapped it with Tyvek and resided. In short, brought a 30 year old build up to current building standards. 3 months after it was finished, Hurricane Michael hit it with everything it had. We had a little over $300 damage to soffits and fascia trim, and it was less than 10 miles from the eastern eye wall . There were several houses completely destroyed less than half a mile away. Your investment is an insurance policy. I hope you never need it.

We got our call from the county this morning to get out of town. The house is all boarded up and truck packed. We are headed out this afternoon.

If it holds the projected path, the eye will pass about 75 miles east of here.
