I think mine has a 3% deductible for hurricane or wind damage, but I am under the Cobra Act (Coastal Barrier Resources Act). I guess they figure that people don't belong on a sand bar with water on both sides..No, I'd get a new roof. Might take 9 months for them to get to me, but it would happen.
The problem is that hurricane deductibles are 2x regular deductibles. So if your house is insured for $400,000, the typical deductible is 1 %, or $4,000, whereas if the damage is from a hurricane, it is 2%, or $8,000.
Nothing I can fly can go over. Simply put, a hurricane is just a big collection of really big thunderstorms. With a good radar you can pick your way around them. When I was based in the Philippines in the military they came out with a new flight planning software that looked only at time and would route you to get the most beneficial winds. Several times they had planned us to go right by the eyewall. Needless to say we didn't do that Momma's child was ugly not stupid. You ever flown over or around one?

Regardless of political differences, I hope everyone fares well through this.
Even LG.
Looks like Florida may be spared on this one. Now what shall I do with all my booze?
Save it for election night 2020 you’ll need it.
