Ah, the 20/20 of hindsight. Even after AK was named a captain at last year's O&W no one thought anything of it on here. Hurd was Heisman candidate and only a few yards from being UT's all-time leading rusher.

Had anyone brought up anything negative regarding Hurd this place would have jumped on the poster like a fly to jelly.

I actually voiced that issue of how the backup was the captain. A couple others here did too, , but it was largly overlooked. I remember Kamara in the room at signing day too. Looked very connected to the brass. Seemed 100% loved by teammates too.

Yes, had this "Kamara should start" narrative began in July, then most here would have freaked. Although, some were saying it really on. To be fair, Alvin's extra reps showed us how good he was too.

Finally. Unless I'm really not understanding this mother's tweet, she has no class whatsoever. Trying to throw shade on the dreams and success of a 21 year old! Hard to believe this could be typed out by a real human being.

Honestly. You are right. For only one year in the system, what elite program / staff would want Hurd's quit backed up by what appears to be a Merry band of fools in the immediate and extended family? It's he really that good. Hmmm?

this was my point exactly. not one person thought hurd should be benched after his sophmore year. yea we all knew kamara was very talented but nobody was saying he should be benched

What are YOU thinking? Up until Hurd went full idiot mode on us, most of us thought he was all-everything. But those adults close to him, who should keep things real, blew his ego outta proportion. That isn't on his coaches. So don't act like any of them could have stopped that.

I bet Alvin thanks Hurd everyday for taking those 1000s of hits and tackles, blows to the head, knee, etc... that Hurd took from SEC defenses... thereby leaving Alvin free to wow scouts and have a stellar NFL draft. Way to go man! If I were him, I wouldn't have it any other way...

As the starter of this thread, i'd also like to put this out there....

His Freshman year, Jalen Hurd was the most dominate RB i've ever personally witnessed at UT. His last year here left much to be desired, but he was absolutely electric with the ball when he was in his "prime".

He'll end up like a Lemarcus Coker, Bryce Brown or Da'Rick Rogers. Infinite potential, sullied by crappy decisions and a poor support system.
