While Florida is complaining about the phantom punch - they might try visiting the replay at the 3.21 left in the game mark. Hurd is at the bottom of the pile and while trying to get up - appears to get a sucker punch in the midsection by Florida lineman number 57. Far more egregious than Gaulden's flop imo.

Gaulden's flop was not very dignified and I wish he hadn't done it. But the ref standing a few feet away saw a punch thrown. That's why he threw the flag, not because of Gaulden's antics.

Yep, he was already pulling the flag out when the act occurred.

Nothing that it mattered but the call was hilariously terrible.

Just as terrible as no flag on punching Hurd at the end of the game and also at the first or second play of the game hurd is getting up from the tackle and Cox gives him a shot to the back of the head and no flag. Would you rather discuss your mysterious leg cramp flops all during the second half by your defense?

Lol that was a flop that would have made Lebron James jealous

It certainly didn't matter--but it was a TERRIBLE call...absolutely TERRIBLE...:hi:

And nothing is gonna prevent them from doing the same thing to us next week if the SEC doesn't discipline that official and that crew for that pathetic excuse...

Father was Brian Cox, a thug. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree. :hi:

Well considering the UF player was ejected. Bad penalties/no penalties happen all the time. But a player getting ejected is a bit tough.

I just went back to the spot you are talking about and I don't see any punch.

It really wasn't anything that bad. I could see it getting a penalty if the refs had warned the player during the game but stuff like that happens in football all the time.

Best part about it all is Florida threw dirty punches and went home a loser! We get 365 days of bragging right and the JG and company roll the gators in the swamp

It wasn't much of a punch, but it was there. They cut to another camera right afterwards, but when they show the field again you can see the reaction of Hurd and other Vols clearly upset with the Florida player who did it.

I don't know about that. It didn't look like much, but the only view I've seen of it looks like it was shot from a helicopter flying over the stadium. I'll have to trust the ref who was standing on the field a few feet away and who had a much better look at it than any of us.

The guy threw the punch..connecting or not doesnt matter..It is still a personal foul..

People thinking the flop had anything to do with it are fooling themselves, a flop is simply to draw attention so a ref looks at what is going on. Since a ref was looking at them when it happened, the flop was insubstantial..just sayin
