Hurd Pulled a Hamstring in Pre-bowl Practice (Maybe, who knows)

A pulled hamstring could happen in many different ways, but it seems a lot of our guys get hurt in practice. Raises some questions

No disrespect, but seriously, who the eff are you? No one! If I write something, know that it's true. Period.

I have never, nor will I start, write anything erroneous on this board. Everything that I have ever written is the truth, and most people (that have been on this board long enough or have any crediblity) already know this.

It is what it is. Hope he plays, but if he doesn't/can't, you'll know why.

No disrespect though, right? That's a nice way of saying... Hang tight, my huge ego is about to show.
Love how people on this board know someone close to a player and they instantly become an insider to the program.

No disrespect

If you are truly his uncle, you have no business being on this board saying anything about Jalen whether good news or bad.

No it doesn't. Every team has players hurt in practice. You just notice it more when it is your team

So Hurd is transferring because he tore his hamstring off and is tired of being the workhouse tailback.

Only time ever pulled a muscle in my life was in college during week three of the season after we stretched. The RBs/WRs/TEs were doing agility drills through bags, something I've done personally since before middle school ball. On my second cut, just a regular step, heard a small pop and didn't think a ton about it. It was a bit sore and I was a bit slower, but it was cold so I thought nothing about it. Found out I pulled my hammy about an hour later when I tried to block a middle linebacker and my leg gave out on me and we both hit the ground. When I told the trainer about the popping sound I heard in warmups he said I must be an idiot or one of the toughest guys he ever met for it to not hurt enough for me to stop right there.

This next part is presuming he actually is hurt.

I like to imagine that our medical staff at UT is better than the one I had at my D3 school. And I like to imagine a future NFL running back is tougher than I am. Fact is, you can pull or hurt almost anything just walking down the street, but if this kid can play and it not risk serious injury, he's one of the few I believe can fight through the pain of something like that. I just worry about his blocking because he is one of the best blocking running backs in the nation. It's already hard to block someone near as athletic as you when they have momentum on you like a blitzing linebacker or diving DE. I would say it's nearly impossible to block someone of similar athletic ability on one leg. It might work a time or two, but once they figure out what's going on they will abuse that knowledge.

If this coaching staff is worth a damn then Evan Berry should get carries at RB

Quite possibly the dumbest, most ignorant post I've read on this site. If the coach is "worth a damn" he will put in a guy that hasn't practiced at or played running back since high school. Brilliant!!!!!

If he doesn't play the biggest impact very well could be him not blocking. He is a huge part of the game plan for his blocking.
He's a great kid and I hope first and foremost for his sake that he gets to play. These guys only get a few shots at a bowl game.

Vol74 is Hurd's uncle. Told everyone on VN to get ready for great news about 20 minutes before Jalen verbally committed to Tennessee in March of 2014. Has been dead on accurate with other information (specific details when Hurd was cited for underage drinking and Hurd's injury vs Vandy in 2014, etc) with regards to Jalen. The ONLY thing he can legitimately be questioned about is his claim that Jalen wants to transfer after this season, and that's yet to be determined. So, that's why many of us who've been on here for awhile have great trust in his information.
Thanks for the info, I'm not on the board enough to know all the insiders.
What a punch in the gut BUT it is what it is and Alvin will catch fire. GBO!!!

Yeah, that's a moronic post. I think Berry should get some offensive touches, but not at running back.
