For the life of me I will never understand why some people on here would willingly choose to believe that Hurd was benched for mouthing off over Vol74's info. Just blows my mind.

Butch is not playing pointless games. These college kids have privacy rights. Butch is protecting his player, and I respect that. Sorry to break this news to you, but we as fans are not entitled to know everything.

The problem I have with 74 is him talking about Hurd taking himself out of games and insinuating that Hurd is bigger than the team. So I will not apologize for that critique. That was completely ignorant for him to post that as a know "insider" and really put a bad taste in my mouth.

What's really disturbing is that it was more than just a handful...and once presented with good info they not only didn't back down. They insisted they were right.

How did he protect him by not being truthful about his injury? Instead, he let a certain segment of the fanbase trash Jalen's reputation all week long with the false narrative that Hurd "mouthed off" and was benched, like he was a prima donna and/or a bad teammate or something. Wth?

It wasn't just the fan base. Mike Griffith was on Twitter saying the same crap about Hurd this week. Swain put him on blast over it.

And the coaches cannot be responsible for what a small minority of idiot fans say on twitter/forums/radio shows.
I doubt they even know what fans say on social media. Unbelievable what people want to pin on the staff.

@jabaridavis_VFL - I've heard the most ridiculous stuff this week, Jabari. The kid is injured, but somehow it's a conspiracy. So silly.

So, Butch says Jalen was good to go earlier in the week, says he'll play.....and then we find out the truth, all while Jalen's reputation gets run through the mud.

Hold up. You called me out earlier this week when I questioned LWSVOL and his post that said Hurd's mouth overloaded his ass.

Told me I should quit trying to discredit him, which I wasn't, I just didn't believe what Larry was told.

You can't believe what Larry said and what Vol74 said. They contradict each other.

Or Butch got new info Monday after the PC and things changed.

You keep ripping on people that go after Jalen when they don't have any info which is fine but you got no problem doing the same to Butch when you have zero facts about what happened

I agree. Hurd is one of, if not THE most popular player on the team among fans. 74 should have kept those kinds of posts to himself because that's where all the "bad attitude" rumors started.

I've seen maybe 5% of posts question his attitude and the only reason was what vol74 posted about transferring and how frustrated he was. Most people figured he was injured which Butch confirmed Wednesday.
