Hurd not expected to play Saturday

The real issue here is the damage being done to Hurd by it IMO. Here's a tweet by Swain.....

"Poor job of allowing Hurd to be thrown under bus and his attitude questioned all week."

So coaches should pay attention to what idiot fans tweet/post. LOL
I hope Jones doesn't even know what people post or tweet.

Where was Swain when the other player on the team was thrown under the bus earlier in the year?

This thread has gotten out of hand. And at this point it is doing more damage than good.

Fans "throwing players under the bus" is what some idiot fans do. It's not the coaches or teams fault and the players and their families should understand this. No. It doesn't make it right but there are some real idiots out there. And it won't go away when he's playing on Sundays.

Agree - and actually it will be worse when he is playing on Sundays.

Omg some "fans" just look for things to complain about. If jalen doesn't play tomorrow it's because he is hurt. Butch wants to win. Enough said. He wouldn't bench him if he was healthy.

Some of y'all make us look sooooo bad as a fan base when you start bashing our players as soon as they disappoint you. Please stop. They are college kids. They're not perfect.

Jalen bleeds orange and is a vfl. I appreciate everything he has done for UT. Don't listen to the mouth breathers jalen. If you're hurt, get healthy. We're gonna need you.

Who was thrown under the bus earlier this year? And how does that have anything to with Hurd's situation?

Ezekiel Elliot was drafted 4th out of a similar offense. Hurd will make his money at Pro days and the combine. His pass blocking ability gives him a leg up on other backs because he invites the contact. He's a complete back.

But that's because EE's skill set is ideal for pro or spread. Hurd is definitely built for pro style. He can succeed in spread because he's that good, but it's not the best way to showcase his skills.

That would require omniscience. Reason validates the argument, not perfect knowledge. There is no way to know if he makes more money or less money because he chose Tennessee. It's quite possible he would get a bigger rookie contract coming out of a pro-style offense, even from a school not quite as prestigious as Tennessee.

You confuse guessing with reason. Nice try though. Thanks for proving my point.

I would say a large % of the concern is based on: would he bring him off the bench in the last minutes of the game, if he was injured (physically).

Edit: I stand behind all of our players and Staff.

Good grief. Some people need to just think before they say things that they will regret. Hurd is not an attitude problem. He is a VFL. He is injured enough that he may miss this week's game. It's not an issue. We'll miss him, but he will be back as soon as the training staff clears him. Stop the stupid criticism/ rumor non-sense and stand behind a player that has given his all for us time and again. Hurd is the man!!!!

Freak,

I would like to propose something:

Split Volnation up into two seperate websites. Make everyone re-apply for accounts. During the new application, each applicant is to complete a written psychological evaluation. Doing this would create a place for the rational fans to live in peace AND create a safe place for the toothless delusional fans to like each other's ears.

Please Volnation, can we get some support behind this idea?

I've enjoyed this thread to be honest. I've always been a rascal, I guess I just enjoy a little chaos.:devilsmoke:

You can always move to San Fran and be as safe as you want!?!

Per NFL.com there are 130 players on NFL rosters who played in the FCS. There are more than that just from the SEC East. The percentages are definitely not in favor of that.

Maybe not in early rounds a DII RB gets drafted but they do sometimes (get drafted ), but there are 24 total RB's from the SEC alone.

There are 7 from all of DII.

(This actually surprised me that there were that many and that the Saints have the most DII players on their roster with 8)

For real. Man I love UT football but some of its fans completely embarrass me.

Every school has these type of fans. I've been impressed overall with this board this week. The fans are pretty respectful to the visitors and I feel this board respects the traditions of A&M and I likewise respect Tennessee and can't wait to make it there next year. I'm heading down to College Station here in a couple of hours and I hope it's a great game tomorrow.

God's speed, Jalen. I had no clue Hurd was hurt or dinged. Great job of investigative reporting, CBS. I thought he was being punished and was upset at Coach Jones. Whoa.

We'll miss Jalen (a great VFL), but don't be surprised if Kelly has a great game and Josh is allowed to air it out more. It's time. We have quality receivers ... utilize them.

Go Vols!

of course Low may have heard it at Whataburger between his 3 double cheeseburgers Big Fries and Chocolate shake.....

.@JimmyHyams confirmed on @SportsRadioWNML that Jalen Hurd is recovering from a concussion. Hurd will not play tomorrow, per Hyams.
