We are 3-3 half way through the season. Looking at our rushing totals:
Hurd has 126 for 572 yards or 4.54 yards/rush
Kamara has 45 for 255 yards or 5.66 yards/rush
Dobbs has 73 for 368 yards or 5.04 yards/rush

With our remaining schedule do you see:
Hurd getting 1200 yards rushing
Kamara getting 500 yards rushing
Dobbs getting 750 yards rushing

Of course this is if no one has a substantial injury to miss a game or more.

Hurd and AK, yes.

Don't know about Dobbs.

Hopefully we can beat 5 out of these last 6 without Dobbs running for his life.

Hurd could be the fastest at UT to 2000 yards

Bama, Mizz, and KY will require Dobbs to scramble, so he might hit that mark (or close) by November. Kamara will hopefully pick up 200 yards between North Texas and Vandy, so he will be over 500 for the season. And Hurd should def hit 1200 if the game plan stays the same.

I dont see this staff as the type to leave players in games with lopsided leads just to pad individual numbers. Assuming we establish and maintain comfortable leads against UNT, USC, and Vandy, i see Hurd, Dobbs, and AK sitting in the fourth. That gives them 3 full games to ball out (one against the toughest defense we will face) and 9 quarters of the other 3 games. Might be tough to hit those numbers if it plays out like that. OTOH, if we get in shootouts with everyone, except UNT, then they could easily hit those totals.

Using last years stats for Bama, UK, SC, Vandy, and Mizz, those games combined for each player:

Dobbs - 393 yards rushing
Hurd - 363 yards rushing

Different year, different team. The offense is much more polished this year. I hope Dobbs has about the same, but I don't think Hurd will be any where near that low a number over those five games.

I hear ya' on Dobb's running - pocket passer he doesn't seem to be much.

I think if he can run b/t 50-75 yards a game and pass for at least 200, we have a good shot at winning the last 5 of 6 - which would land us at 8-4 (which many of us predicted - albeit without the W against UGA).

That would show significant improvement (considering the total number of "Ws" and how close some of the "Ls" were) which would land us in a nice bowl game and Butch can continue to do what he does best.....promote/sell the program and recruit players.

Would like to see Hurd break Travis Henry's career rushing record. Hurd has about 1,500 but needs double that in order to break it.
Should Hurd go to the NFl after next season, he would need to average 88 yards per game to safely break the record.
Should he return for his senior season, he will get close to 4,000 career yards.

Hurd is bigger and stronger this year. He always stretches the runs a little after hit and always falls forward when tackled. He will get it plus more 100 yard games.

There was a 3rd down against Florida where he was hit behind the LOS, tried to bounce out and somehow got the 1st while he was reeling off balance in the wrong direction with a defender hanging off him..

By "comfortable lead" I'm assuming you mean more than 13.

Between 3 quarters each of USCe and North Texas...Yeah.

I just think Debord has finally decided to let Dobbs "ball out", that is what he does best. Set up the pass with the QB/RB runs.

It's not about Dobbs "running for his life"....it's about this offense desperately needing Dobbs to be a big part of the running game to be successful. Dobbs can't beat a good team throwing solely from the pocket...he has to carry the ball on zone reads and designed QB runs for the offense to be efficient IMO. So, I vote yes, he needs to get to 750 for us to be where we want to be. The good news is that the schedule softens considerably the last 5 games after Bama...at that point, only Mizzou boasts a top flight defense.

All of this is doable, except Kamara is alittle dinged up. I hope he puts a few more up than dobbs (pigs spot on the sweep) I like the three headed monster!!!
