Hurd is over rated

Do you watch football? If your offensive line is getting blown up all game every game then you won't get much yardage. You try getting 8 yard rushes when every time Dobbs hands it to you you have 3 defensive lineman hitting you. Stop blaming Hurd blame the line

No one is blaming Hurd, just saying that he doesn't look as intense and passionate and that his vision hasn't been great. He is not the problem but he hasn't been meeting expectations either

Showed him all summer flying on that treadmill but so far he looks slow and sluggish. Ran for 8 yards and on 3rd and 1 he is waving to come out, I don't know what is going on but something isn't right. He hasn't look like Hurd of last year yet this year. Kelly deserves more carries he runs like he is on fire. I for one am not saying Hurd is overated he can be a force when he is healthy. I personally think it's a combo of the O-Line not blocking well and maybe he is sore or something, he just seems like he is running a little different to me. GBO!

He's a good player. Maybe great in the right offense. But in this offense we'd be better off with a guy that could make players miss. Hurd never jukes anyone

I hope Jalen doesn't listen to this Vol74 character. Telling him to mail it in and safe himself is cancerous to himself and the locker room. I just want to see him get fired up and play with the intensity we seen from him last year.

All that would do is LOWER his stock further, that's Javon Clowney attitude don't practice hard go full speed every 3rd play. It's not going to help anybody's NFL status playing like that. Nor do I expect Hurd to take advice from a message board nut that doen't know anything. GBO!!!

The unfortunate thing with Hurd is that he is getting so beat up in this scheme that a) his stats won't impress any pro scouts, and b) he'll be lucky if he is healthy enough to play beyond college. He chose the wrong coach/school/offensive scheme.

Over 50% of his yds yesterday were gained after he was hit in the backfield......yep hes overrated.....

This thread amazes me really you can tell more than like the one who started this thread probably never stepped on a field and took a snap a day in his life because anyone who knows anything I mean anything about football knows that if Jalen Hurd was at say Ohio St.,Alabama,Jalen would be a heisman candidate this year, just so happens we have no blocking or holes for him to run through here he has to run over and through everyone to get what he gets now.

You'll have to take that up with the Best Coaching Staff in America. I don't make those decisions.

Won't pretend to know or assume Hurd took himself out, but if, for whatever reason, Hurd is limited, Kamara really needs more touches and frankly, I thought Fils Aime looked like he needed some more time on the field especially with his RS being burned. And let's not sleep on Kelly. Staff has options and ways to keep Hurd fresh if that's the desire.

Hurd is tough as nails... kid has a great heart, and will put a hat on you, and often gets a lot of YAC (contact)... but, he seems a little "gangly" when he runs, and he lacks a quick first step like an Emmit Smith, or a hip move like Shawn Alexander... so I rate him a B+, but not elite. Not sure he will play RB in the NFL, I could see him as a TE though. I think he would have made a great MLB here.

could it me that we face 8 guys in the box ?
could that be that we cant consistently complete short and intermediate throws?

Is he wrong for our offense ?
OR are are coaches forcing the wrong offense on him and Dobbs ...an offense that does not maximize their skill sets?

Hurd stinks and gets tripped up by any contact at the line of scrimmage. His vision is generally poor and doesn't have breakaway speed. The thing he really sucks at though is the getting tackled at line scrimmage almost every time.

The way to stop a good RB is to hit him in The backfield. Happened to LF from LSU late in the season. Lack of passing game completely kills the offense.
