Hurd is over rated

I doubt his stock has "plummeted". NFL scouts see that he had to break multiple tackles behind the LOS constantly.

Same thing seems to have happened to Fournette -- both should be decent NFL players unless they end up with a garbage franchise like Cleveland or Dallas

Hurd would be putting up Henry type numbers in Bamas offense.

This offense is high school in its blocking scheme. PutnHurd in the pistol, or run some from the I.
Kelly is better for this system.

I'm sorry and I've been biting my tongue for a while but his vision is not good, and all three games this far minus a select few occasions he goes down without much of a fight for ~2 yards.

Hurd is our toughest player. he is hit behind the line scrimmage and still produces. will leave UT as all time leading rusher. you may want to take a look at the OL and our QB's inability to throw downfield with accuracy

Hurd isn't in a great system for his abilities. Hurd isn't a guy who needs to be running off tackle or to the edge. He needs to run in between the tackles which isn't UT's style or strength at all .

Also this is correct as well. Although he's faster than you would think for a guy his size, it still isn't his strength to bounce it outside. But he constantly has to unfortunately.

Offensively our OL is probably the worst in the SEC and that doesn't help at all. I think Hurd is better suited for an I Formation offense. They still won't put Hurd and Kamara on the field at the same time. We have a Big-10 OC. We are in trouble.

Much of this is the stubbornness of Debord and not utilizing personnel correctly.

Don't expect many 4 and 5* players to play with the setup we have here.

Butch is gonna have to make some tough decisions this winter or we will see UT maxing out at 8 - 9 wins every season, assuming Vandy, Ky, and SC. don't improve.

And don't forget that the OC is lost and doesn't have a clue.

Hurd is being brought down on first contact this year. Last year he was dragging 4 and 5 defenders, and stiff arming tacklers flat. Is he playing safe? Is his focus on the league? I saw one high effort run from him today late in the game that looked like the guy we've watched the last two years. He may be done with this staff too, and is just mailing it in.

Said this before...Kamara and Kelly are the type backs for this system.

Hurd would benefit in a pro type offense. Still think his calling was at LB..

His indeceiveness on the stretch plays, that we run 29 times a game, allows defenders to dive at his legs as well.

Take out the part in between the commas and read it like its a full sentence. I know, reading is hard

Well, indeceiveness is a hard thing to do for a 6'4" 240lb guy. Or did you mean indecisiveness? In that case, well, you're wrong, he simply accepts the handoff and plows forward. I know, critical thinking and observation (and spelling) is hard.

It was mentioned during the game that they wondered how successful Hurd would be if the QB handed it to home while taking snaps under Center.

Hurd is a beast. He has gotten us the tough yards when we needed them with a sub-par o line blocking for him. Even today on his long run, the o line was being pushed backwards as they were moving to the left.

Whether it is the scheme or the pitiful play of the o line or a combination of both, I look forward to seeing Hurd in the NFL behind a decent line running in a better offense.
