Hurd is "day to day"

I don't think Hurd is hurt. Something weird is going on. And I'm not a jump-off-the-cliff guy, but with as many injuries as we've had this season, we have had a chance to see how Butch handles talking about them.

And he's talking about Hurd's awkwardly.

aaaannnnnnnnddddddd so?

I think you, me and everyone else has idea of what's going on here and it's none of our business, plus it's the right way to handle it. Hurd will be back.

Josh and Will on the Sports Animal just said the situation was weird and that if it was a head injury he wouldn't have had his helmet all game and that he wouldn't have been on the final kickoff.

Josh said over and over he thought it was just Hurd in the doghouse and Butch saying anything other than an injury was coach just trying not to throw Hurd under the bus.

Just passing on what they are discussing.

And this is what I've Been saying, his helmet would have been pulled immediately!

So you think 10-2 will be good enough to get into the sec championship?

Of course it will be. We essentially sit here today with a 3 game lead over Georgia and a 2 game lead over Florida. If we lose the next 2 games and finish 10-2, Florida loses just 1 more game (still have LSU, Georgia, Mizzou and Arky) and UGA wins out, we're in Atlanta for a rematch vs Bama.

Thats assuming someone caught it. They still miss them in the NFL with spotters looking for it.
And thats also assuming that signs were present during the game. Having had one you can go hours without showing visible symptoms.

I would say the best way to get EVERYONE focused on what they have to do...cant rely on Hurd being there. But I think he will, I think he forgot who the coaches were...kids...what are you going to do...he has been to dependable I think this was just a teaching moment.

And if thats what happened you deal with it accordingly and move on. I just don't think that is what is going on here.

This is freaking odd. Just tell us what the Hell is going on Butch! If its internal punishment let us know. If its a head injury let us know. This is a big deal and we do deserve a minimum amount of info.

Guys if you read the other threads about Mondays or Tuesdays practice VOL74 and VFL34-Travis Stevens talk about Hurds injury its not a full concussion but has similar symptoms.
Travis called it a buzz or Buzzer I think. Point is the info is on these forums just check out those threads. I think its the 10/4 practice threads.

Personally going back and watching the tape, ( Hurd said something to a coach that warranted the sit) JMHO, film didn't show it but he looked fine on the scoring drive and ran through the end zone. THROUGH the end zone trying to make up for his lapse in never seeing backside contain.

Jalen beat himself up enough as it was watching his route and catch in the end zone on a great debord called play which he set up twice and UGA didn't have an answer. But if you notice, Jalen's head was on a swivel on the 2nd play.

Jalen is a hoss but I can see how fans could get down on him and think he was styling going in after the catch for the fumble. As a back/WR/TE don't care who you are, head is on a swivel. Jalen didn't do that but he's still the mainstay on this team!

Jalen We need ya hoss, and do what you do! Thinking 125 this week!:good!:

I don't remember exact stats, but he ran for about 90 yrds. And 2 td's. He didn't play the whole game.

Did he look better than Hurd?

The last high school game I saw Hurd play, he ran for close to 400 yards and seven touchdowns. And that was in the state championship game against an outstanding defense from Columbia TN.

Jalen got his bell rung. I would expect him back for the game. He needs to just take it easy til then in the shade. No more rumors!

If he isn't good to go, John jelly will step it up, he is good as well. We need jalen back for bama though for sure. But again, I fully expect jalen to play.

Then why is Butch still claiming it's a "lower extremity" injury? I believe you VFL34, but if Hurd's symptoms were bad enough to keep him out for most of the fourth quarter then he shouldn't have been allowed back onto the field for the kickoff return.

I'm not trying to start drama and I'm not saying anybody needs to be formally reprimanded, but if Butch and/or the medical staff didn't follow the concussion protocol then they should at least own up to it.

Thanks for your contributions VFL34!

why should we let A&M know what his injury is? What would "owning up to it" accomplish at this juncture? Should we worry about preparing for the #8 team on the road or what ails one player?

All interesting questions.

Coaches abroad have become more vague and even deceptive about all things involving injuries. Just my opinion but given the nature of this injury the thought could be the opponent make take an early shot at him. Not that they are not gonna try and hit him anyway, but this is a specific injury that could remove him from the game.

You answered your own question. He is covering for letting him back in the game. Whether he knew at the time or not, he now knows he shouldn't have went back in, hence why we're getting the runaround from Jones.

It depends on what exactly they would be owning up to.

To the second question. Who is "we".....?
