Hurd for Heisman!

Possible, but I think the carries that AK will take will hurt him, as far as the Heisman goes.

What is this Heisman of which you speak and what makes you think someone from Tennessee would ever win one?

It is this fictional award given to most popular player each year, whether they deserve it or not. Tennessee will never win one because we are not the popular kids.

I'd like to see him have a good enough year to really get some Heisman buzz.

Play Hurd the 1st Qtr, then Kamara the 2nd & Hurd the 1st half of the 3rd - then Kamara and then turn Hurd loose in the 4th - Kamara the last 5 minutes. Called opening up a can of ........

I think more likely they will each run different types of places. Hurd strikes me as a north/south, between the tackles type and Kamara as a side to side though I'm certain each can do both with the amazing athleticism they both possess.

Hurd is an elite blocker RB, I've never seen a Freshman block like he did in 2014

Coaching staff didn't want to break him down with the lack of blocking up front.

And its scary to think we have 2 elite RB with IV sitting in the back ground, then you add Dobbs and all of the WR threats who do you cover.

If Dobbs can get us into the right call we will be tuff to stop.

Both are premier backs so I know everyone is excited about Hurd but it wouldn't surprise me to see Kamara get 50% of the carries

First you wanted a 10+ win season...
Then you wanted a SEC Title...
Now you want Hurd to win the Heisman™..

What's next? A natty?

Why would a UT player ever accept a Heisman after the way our previous people have been treated? IF a UT player ever wins one, it is my desire that player shows up, cites the previous bias and lousy treatment UT players Majors & Manning were given and decline it on their behalf along with the traditional anti SEC bias .. drop the mic and walk off the stage.

Brad Rowland at SI.com says he's a darkhorse! behind of course, chubb, fournette, and henry.
Still, it's nice to get more positive publicity from a big media site!

He also says "Tennessee clearly treated Hurd with “kid gloves” in his debut season", which I haven't heard elsewhere.

I don't see any Tennessee Volunteer ever winning the Heisman.

Johnny Major lost it to Paul Horning who played for a Notre Dame team that had a losing record.

Heath S. lost to a played who couldn't even make an NFL team.

Carl Pickens lost it because he was a two way player & Manning lost it to a two way player.

Jamaal Lewis was never considered for the Heisman.
