Hunter out for season with torn ACL

Here's what the classy VBCock had to say over on the SC board re: Hunter's injury:

"Big break for us. Much more likely to win in Knoxville, which was the second most worrisome game to me,"

Good to see Spurrier's classiness has passed right down to his players. Suddenly, I want to beat this team much more than anybody else.

Classless, but if Lattimore went down, I'm sure we'd have some idiot on here saying the same thing.

You don't think anyone in VolNation would be saying the same thing about SC or Bama if Lattimore or Richardson went done for the season...

It's the nature of competition. Everyone gloats when they think they have the upper hand.

This is getting ridiculous. My 2 favorite pro players, and favorite NCAA player are all out for the season....by week 3.

Same thing for me dude. After Peyton was said to miss week 1 I turned to the Chiefs (solely because of Berry) and then the inevitable happened to him. Hard times for VOL fans.

I agree. Fans from any school would do this. And if you say "no" then you are lying through your teeth.

If they thought that, why would they have let him do so much walking on it after he left the field (on sideline, to locker-room, out of locker-room, on sideline again...)?

I have torn my acl as well and walking doesnt hurt. Its the sudden stops, plants and twisting that brings the pain.

Dude, I can't say more. OP says his 3 favorite players are OUT. Same here. Last year, I enjoyed watching the Chiefs JUST BECAUSE of Berry. I didn't care if they won or lost if they played the Colts. Manning is my favorite player of all-time. JHunt is my favorite NCAA athlete. Now I've turned to watching the Raiders play, watching D-Moore.

Arian struggling with his hammy too. Tough times for Vols in the NFL.

when i saw the slo-mo i thought it was going to be just his MCL, like jamal lewis in 98.

it was probably evident on physical exam that his ACL was torn. MRI defines the extent of the injury, which affects surgical planning. it is not uncommon to tear the MCL and the medial meniscus along with the ACL.

sucks. really, really sucks.

i do not want to read any of the other threads about hunter being out for the season for fear that someone or several someones will say something about our season going down the toilet.

i am sick for this kid! I know it can be repaired but i almost wish he would have chose olympics over football.

I just hate it for him..

Will he be able to be the same after this?

20 years ago...no
Now,yes The can bring the knee back, but it will take time. He will get a medical red shirt, but he will be gone with D Rogers and Bray after his Jr year in any case.

Bray wont go pro until the weight picks up - anyway there are some good freshman Wrs coming in next season. We need a great RB like the other SEC teams have ex Lattimore, Dyer, Crowell, Rainey, Richardson and so on I dont see any on the horizon after Poole leaves
