Hunter hurt (merged)

Good grief... its a torn ACL GUARANTEED, would you like to bet on this? I , the trainer, the ortho pod and everyone on that team KNOWS its a torn ACL

And who the hell are you?

You cannot guarantee such a thing YOU ARE NOBODY. It could be a number of issues, regardless if ACL is the most likely scenario.

Get a life kid.

Official: torn ACL, confirmed by Hunter himself (according to Clay Travis). This sucks.

season ender

don't know anatomy and recovery that well, but also means won't be as fast again when it heals, correct?

That may be true, but how many ACL tears have you seen where the trainers let the guy walk off the field under his own power. I can't remember seeing one.

When I had mine tear, it was very similar to how he tore his, except mine buckled a bit more and was only a partial tear. When I saw the replay I was thinking it was a sprain.

I'd ask how often players tear an ACL just because they land the wrong way (after a jump)

I haven't stopped throwing them back since Justing got hurt, I'm typing with feelings in my hand because everything is a blurr

Chuck Webb tore his ACL against Pacific in 1990 and proceeded to walk off the field under his own power after the play was over. They didn't know the severity of the injury until later.

I'm hoping for the best, but I would be shocked if it was anything less than a season ending injury. Regardless hopefully he makes a clean and smooth recovery. It's always sad when an athlete that talented goes down with that sort of injury.

IF Hunters ACL is torn, what are the qualifacations for a medical redshirt? Lord i hope its a sprained knee and we see him back soon.

He would qualify based on playing time and IMO would be granted it without question. The bigger question is would he hang around long enough to use it, as he will be a Top draft pick assuming his health is not an issue by that time.

Well thats what i am thinking, i just hope this doesnt affect his ability like it does ALOT of players who have tears

We have to remember this is a guy that is as, if not more serious about his track career... even if its a minor leg injury, he's not going risk any further injury until he's 110%

My nephew in his senior year of HS tore his PCL on the basketball court (he was a point guard and went to the basket a lot, cuts and stuff like that). Anyway, he has to come out of the game for a bit. No one knows he's hurt like that, just that he went down. So after a breather the coach puts him back on the floor. We had to win the game to get to the district. So he goes out there like a trooper but when he's running down the court, he has trouble stopping - pretty much just falls down. He lost control of his stopping ability. He went to the doc the next day and got the bad news. He tried to play with a brace in a subsequent game but it was no good. He was done with basketball. He could have had surgery and gone through Rehab. We had a NBA doc lined up but he said screw it and his college basketball aspirations, let the thing heal as it would, and joined the crew team in college. He was happy and as far as I know hasn't really had any problem with a normal life with respect to the injury.

I think the real reason he blew off the surgery was because the rehab afterwards was going to be a grueling experience and if I am not mistaken it was to go on for six months.

If it is a torn ACL, that sucks. But players can come back from that and Justin certainly has the talent to be an elite WR in the league some day. The real painful part for him, I'm guessing, is his Olympic aspiratiions. Any Drs on here who can comment on how a torn ACL could affect his long jumping abilities? I really feel for the kid. He may have just lost one dream while pursuing another.

If you play Past the 3rd game in the season, you're not eligable for a medical redshirt unless it's extreme. So, while his knee injury is terrible, it couldnt have happened at a better time if he is out

Does anyone actually believe he would play 3 more years- the only good thing about getting a red shirt is if gets injured again and unable to be drafted
My opinion- he returns next year and then goes to the league.
