Hunter hurt (merged)

You need to shut your mouth and let the adults talk... Its an OBVIOUS ACL tear. Bet me ANYTHING!!!.... The sky is blue and that is an ACL tear... IDK if I have ever seen a more obvious ACL than that one. I dont need a weatherman to tell me its raining BUT when i see and feel the rain... well it s rain.

Dude, no way he walks off the field like that with an ACL tear, maybe a bruise/sprain but with a tear he would have had to have been carried or atleast limping very badly.

I'm not a doctor, but wouldn't they put a brace on if it was an ACL? Or does it even matter at that point...

Not necessarily. I am sure it was compression wrapped under his pants. If instability was not bad (which he walked off on his own power) then they sometimes forgo the brace.

You really need to shut your mouth until there is anything official.

ACL tears are not even associated w great pain... just instablity. That is as obvious ACL tear as it gets. Guarantee the Ortho guy that examined him told him right away it was an ACL tear but we will confirm w an MRI. GUARANTEE you dont see Hunter play again in 2011.

you seem way too excited to be right. Calm down a bit

From another board:

In my humble medical opinion, it looked like he sprained his left mcl which is a ligament and not a season ending injury. Knee immobilizer for about 4 weeks unless complete tear and cast for up to 8 weeks. but looked like a simple sprain and he will be out for a few weeks at a maximum. But the knee did not buckle and therefore there probably will not be internal derangement in the knee such as ACL or PCL or meniscus.

Im sure I was wrong but im just trying to be a optimistic person. It did look very bad, i just hope he didn't fully tear it.

Jamal Lewis played three or four plays after blowing out an ACL. Vol Legend George Cafego played most of his junior and his entire senior season (All-American) with one then went on to play a couple of seasons in the NFL. They finally fixed it (to some extent or another) sometime in the 1960s.

It could be an acl tear, but if it was usually you cant put pressure on it, and they deff wouldn't let him walk around on the sideline with crutches. They would be babying his knee like crazy.

I tore my right ACL playing basketball. It hurt pretty bad for 5 minutes and then after that I was sure that I just made a huge deal for nothing. But then the ortho came back and said it was torn. I hope that Hunter's is not, but just have to defer to the professionals for that opinion. I CANNOT STAND WILL MUSCHAMP. Prayers for Hunter though.

Another ACL tear myth

Oh yea just some FYI John Elway tore his his senior year and never had the surgery. Played his entire college and pro career without the surgery

Not good RT @ClayTravisBGID: Dooley on Justin Hunter: "There's no indication he's okay

Looks more like a MCL mechanism to me.

when I tore mine my knee was in a very similar position pushing off of it exactly like he was. Mine popped scared me to death and after a min or so it didn't hurt but was a little sore but I got up and wanted to walk off but they wouldn't let me just in case, but then I walked around on it the rest of the night against medical advice but the only time it hurt was when I tried to move sideways. Won't be good news in my opinion and I have a lot of medical history with torn ligaments. Torn ACL, Pateller tendon, and Ulna Collateral Ligament all of which I thought we just minor and could do anything I wanted other than move them laterally
