I'm not even sure what kind of point you were trying to make in response to my post. You think Kansas' situation is different, and it is, but the fact that they can hire 3 coaches this quickly and we still can't pass go and collect $200, is a little baffling to me.

They have 10+ spots to fill (their staff is 30% complete)

UT has one (our staff is 90% complete)

It's nowhere near the same situation

I'm old, so maybe my perception is off. Everything else is! :)

All joking aside, Sanders was a failure as OC at UT (remember the alternating bubble screen, and the not-obvious-at-all James Banks wildcat package?). Clawson was not any better.

I have no idea why both were failures at UT and have done well elsewhere. That is a topic for an entirely new thread. But, at the end of the day, Fulmer has never shown himself to be excellent at evaluating and developing coordinators. Maybe he will work with Pruitt and get this right. I have no idea.

I do know that a Will Friend promotion (to much fanfare and hype, of course) is exactly what I expect at this point.

Pruitt went after top coaches IMMEDIATELY after landing the job and many of them were on the road recruiting before his press conference. You can quibble with his choices but they were HIS and money was certainly no object. Can’t say that’s been the case since Kiffin’s one and done. So squeeze that narrative like a long lost sibling...if you must. It isn’t accurate.

Say Freeze and others that have been reported are not in play, for whatever reason, and it does strongly point to an inside hire, would Weinke not be a potential good option? He has that IMG connection and him becoming the OC as opposed to the RB coach might be a better recruiting tool? Just a thought. But I agree with some others, I think it will be a dark horse candidate, maybe someone not even been mentioned (i.e., Canada, etc.).

Why would it be? No way it would have been any sooner than yesterday (seccg) so there's no need to Freak out over a couple extra days. Let the coach do his thing and get who he needs

Here’s my bigger concern at this point... looks like we (as in our coaching staff and AD) has been pot committed to Freeze interviewing others but thinking we had him all but signed. Now you see Lindsay on the move, everyone getting into Freeze and us scrabbling to settle for Will Friend. Sounds about right and a dejavu from this time last year fml

Well, seeing how we're both on this damn thread, we're probably in the same reality of a **** storm. I'm not going to believe someone lies just because it's more convenient or easy. I'v seen NOTHING that would indicate Pruitt lies or "Lays it on thick" as you put it. I don't know what world people are raised in which they think it's okay to call people naive, silly, or question the "reality' in which they live. I dare say you know nothing more than the next person.

Not a fan of Sanders but if you look at his resume it’s a stretch to call him a failure. Too small a sample size to paint a Fulmer as bad at hiring.
