Volnation, please pray for Koby Hyde who is a sophomore at Powell High School - #89 on their football team. Koby was in a bad car accident on Saturday morning and still has not regained consciousness.

Koby is a huge Vols fan and is the cousin of Todd Helton. He has played football with my son since 6th grade and is an unbelievable kid. Please pray for his recovery and for his family.

You can read tweets using #KH89 or send kind words of encouragement and follow his progress at:
CaringBridge / Koby Hyde / Journal

Kudos to Erik Ainge for tweeting Koby.

I coached Koby in middle school and he is a wonderful young man. We need your help and prayers.

Agreed, I have a 16 year old who got his license two months ago. It's ironic, but I had enrolled him in a driving class just a few days prior to Koby's accident.

Im 51 years old, a 16 year old kid does not need to drive without parent, should be 18. PRAYERS SENT AND WILL PRAY FOR THE FINE YOUNG MAN.

You got it. Tragic. I don't find old guys like me getting hurt, but it kills me when it happens to kids.
GO VOLS!

O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers: Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant the help of your power, that his sickness may be turned into health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord.**Amen.

How about a little tact, there, 51 yr old?
What makes you think it was his fault?
My sister-in-law was the girl hit on the Pellissippi bridge a couple winters ago. She was in a coma for 15 days. Instead of passing along sympathies, or even nothing at all, so many people thought it was necessary to comment on how the parents shouldn't have let her drive on a snowy night. The family saw those comments on all the local news sites. It truly doesn't help a thing.
I look forward to hearing more about this kid's progress.

No real progress made today for Koby. He's running a high fever, but his EEG is normal which is a positive.

We appreciate the prayers and support for Koby.
