Are you getting some kind of reward for the most posts by a member in a year span? I say you need to get something.

J3 is on the plane and headed to Knoxville, guess hell be here tonight, fri and Saturday atleast.

Seems odd to be coming tonight. Hopefully we aren't setting ourselves up for a violation. If Coaches meet him tonight he cant stay Saturday night. Hopefully the family is paying for their room tonight and the visit doesnt start until tomorrow.

Any news on Nichols BTO?

Not much. Spart and some others I've heard from lately reiterate its primarily a 2 team race UT & Duke.

He will visit October 20th for the bama game, which off the top of my head is his last visit, usually a good sign.

At the end of the day who do you think we end up with all together?

I'm gonna take a stab in the dark and say CCM and our compliance is probably pretty educated on the rules for OV's.

This is like the how are thy allowed to have an open practice, that's a violation, question going around. We have a compliance department for this type of stuff, I'm fairly confident they know what they're doing, this is pretty standard stuff.

I am sure you are right but I still have no idea how BP paid for 3 nights of a hotel for Tobias Harris. I can't believe compliance allowed that bill to pass by them. IIRC the family just repaid the one night.

Pearl had throw away phone to make extra calls with, I'm sure it's not too hard to hand $100 to the Harris' and say this is for your hotel, say you paid for it.

We are advertising this practice and these recruits coming in, I have a little more faith in CCM than I did Pearl, that he's not operating a shady business.

I would guess practice really means the guys are playing pick up games, more like a glorified open gym...Purdue does it before football games all the time.

I agree on bp but compliance signed off on the 3 nights!

How many times did Tobias visit? I remember the OV with the rock painted but then I think right after his visit, him and his dad went to GA Tech and then drove back up here. I thought that's when he committed to Bruce at the end of a game.

Do you guys believe this open practice is worth the risk? I was thinking about it this morning on my way to work, what if only 300-400 people show up and the recruits are like wow these guys don't give a crap about Basketball.

Or

We have a few thousand show up being rowdy and showing great support and the recruits are like man these guys are awsome. They show up to watch a practice on game day for one of the biggest Football games of the year.

I'm just not sold on the risk vs reward. I hope my fears are unwarranted and we have a great showing. I have always attended these open practices in the past but unfortunately won't be able to make this one.

Go Vols!!

Practice now is mostly basic stuff. Nothing of interest will be displayed for others to see.

Under CCM I doubt it, yea probably some scrimmages, but it won't be like pickup games where there's no defense being played.

I think you're missing the point, this isn't open to the public, because CCM wants thousands of people to show for a practice. It's open to the public with the hope that people will show because there's going go be close to 10 guys in that building who are on visits and who he wants to impress.

Saturday has become perfect for him and the staff....bring them by college gameday early in the AM, how many other schools recruiting these kids have could've done that?...then probably take them on a tour, meanwhile campus will be mobbed with orange fans...then take them to a practice where they'll get to see how he runs things, and where the recruits will get to see support for the basketball program...that lets out at 3, head over to possibly see the vol walk and band, with all the fans and college gameday there, what a scene...not long after that, get to walk into a stadium with 100k plus fans in orange rooting for Tennessee to kick some a$$..

The scheduling has worked out perfect for CCM on Saturday, this day wil basically recruit itself, he wont have to do much besides just schedule accordingly...no coincidence practice is 2-3...after gameday and before volwalk etc!!!

BTO How many are you hoping show up for practice?

I would guess we are looking at a 3 digit number instead of 4

Fans?

I went to the one before bama game, I'd say it was between 1000-1500 just an estimate. If word spreads through the tailgates and students start coming, could be 2-3k IMO.

There's gonna be a lot of people tailgating, if it gets around to these people, it'll be a nice showing. It's one of those deals where we need word to spread...if we get the tailgates that have 20+ people, if just one person mentions it, most are likely to follow.
