I think you guys ran off my friend Dallas by being mean and rude. He's just a kid but has a big heart and loves basketball. You guys are grown men who used to be a kid. Can't you guys have a little more compassion for this guy? Be kinder and gentler especially when you're dealing with kids. You never know what a person has gone through. But you all know that he's just a young boy who enjoyed hanging out in Volnation. I hope he comes back to us. I'm seriously worried that we haven't heard from him. It's so unlike like him not to post.

And some you guys are feeling a little down about it too. I can feel a little grief in your posts. Think about this...what if Dallas was your kid?

I'm a kid, I got the same crap, (probably deserved it though in all honesty). It happens when you're at that age, and probably talking with people you've never met online for the first time about sports. People are going to call you out on the crap. Dallas is a good kid, but he does go out on limbs here and there. Does he deserve everyone calling him stupid and dumb? No. But he has to understand it's not meant on a personal level, and shouldn't take it hard. I used to, and it ate me up. I eventually learned to just deal with it.

Sad for Dallas if he is actually gone for now. I hope he comes back. Good kid, I see myself (young and reckless in opinions) like him a lot. He loves UT, and hope he realizes no one means to hurt or insult him for real.

I appreciate your post and I think if Dallas reads what people really feel about him he just may come back. I hope more people will follow your lead.

I don't think it's a matter of liking or disliking anyone. I liked a lot of the guys I get crap from, even to this day. But sometimes when people pile on, even "friends", it can be overwhelming and annoying.

Idk. I would like to believe that as harsh as everyone can be on VN, that we are all just braver behind words. I talk crap to people like dallas, but I doubt I really mean it sometimes. Who knows, some people are that kind of rude and insensitive.

I've never piled on Dallas, we have disagreed a couple times but it's been fairly civil. I've even taken up for him a few times.

Your friend Dallas? You two know each other? He's 17 years old, one year from being 18.. Age has nothing to do with why we get on him.. He just needs to learn when its appropriate to post your opinion and when not to. I don't think anyone was mean to him, not anyone I saw at least. I know the actual "regulars of the basketball forum" like Dallas. He just posts some silly/absurd stuff sometimes, gotta learn from it just like anything else.

I'm not saying they would do anything in person, but I do think a couple people pick at him over every little thing and it's not always friendly ribbing.

I used to be an Endzone goon, wtf happened to me? Lol

With all the stupidity posted in this forum, and the non stop arguing in every thread, why does Dallas need to "learn" when it's "appropriate" to post his opinion?

Fwiw my original post wasn't directed at you. There are a couple people that feel the need to be a **** constantly to him, and it's pathetic. As LC said, we all crack on each other occasionally, but to do it all the time can wear on some people.

Damn lots of, dare i say anger, from that?! Dallas seemed pissed at VN in general, I don't think he was mad at anyone in particular. I get what he probably feels when so many disagree and call him out for age and all, but maybe a tad of overreaction. Has to learn it's just VN, and no one is killing him for stupid ****.

Yes my friend Dallas and I don't care if he's 12. And no I don't know him personally. But he's my friend on VN. And I know you're being sarcastic and I could take that the wrong way but I don't. But see that's my point.

Most of you know he is a kid and could have approached him a little differently when he said crazy things. HeLL ITS hard to really tell who is a kid and who is not sometimes in VN. The grown folks here say some pretty stupid stuff...well some of us do especially in a heated VN argument.

A lot of us could learn from this, especially when comes to inappropriate posts. I'm sure many of us like Dallas but obviously, he did not feel that way.
