No downplaying the loss of Sutton to this team, but it was probably no more devastating than Fla losing their signal caller last night. Will we take advantage? That's the question. Ultimately, it comes down to who makes the big plays as the clock winds down late in the game.

Does anyone know who currently backs up Jumper at MLB on the depth chart? The coaches obviously feel that he is the best we have at calling signals for the D or he wouldn't have played nearly all of yesterday's game and he played a decent game. But if he missed a few plays or got hurt, does anyone know who would replace him?

The trial and error phase is over. Now it begins for both teams and we will see who wants the driver's seat in the East the worst. Both teams have some warts, but I think we can replace Sutton easier than the Gators can replace Del Rio. Anyway, we'll soon see. It will be settled at Neyland next Saturday. :) These next 4 are what we wait for all year long.

I would totally rather have Sutton back and them have Del Rio. Losing Sutton is much more critical, IMO. Besides, it looks like Sutton is out for the year as opposed to Del Rio just a few weeks.

Sure, any Vol fan would agree with you that we'd rather have Sutton back to play against Del Rio. But on a non-personal perspective and considering the importance of the position and the experience of the replacements, I think neutral analysis might see this another way.

This game reminds me of the matchup UT against Missouri where mizzou had a great defense but terrible offense. We won that game 19-8

Beat UF beat Uga and the east is ours, A&M and Bama I'm concerned, but UF AND UGA......
:rock:IMHO that's the ticket...the full monty...the whole enchilada. Get to Atlanta and shoot for the stars. Did Butch and Bob and Mike go out on a limb; sand bagging the first 3 to let 'er rip with SEC play? Bear Bryant used to. Darrell Royal did. Pete Carroll did, also, and still does. Woody Hayes and Bo Shembechler? Yep. Now Urban Meyer doesn't tend to (to sand bag), nor do most other Big (10 & 12) coaches. However, UT's 3-0 and despite our most unfortunate loss of Cam and DKJ, I expect this Saturday we'll see JRM back in it......maybe sore but still in there......and with Hall back (Let's hope), the Chance and Jack duo will begin bush hogging the right side and revive that nasty, bully attitude like they did at Tuscaloosa last season. Kahlil and Shy are going to initiate some monstrous pushes up the middle, preventing the qb's stepping up into the pocket so our brutish DEs will pick back up on the terror campaign they've missed out on thus far. I may be wrong, but the gayduhs just took a blow to the gut in losing Del Rio. I think Foreman's "return" will patch up the corners well enough to allow our D to keep us in it. If the offense "wakes up" (as it did in Bristol), then my trip up to Knoxville will be well worth the drive-time...and party expenses...exponentially. Let's raise the bar for loudness in Neyland, rush the field and take down a goal post or two! ARE Y'ALL WITH ME?

Unfortunately, UT has a history of making a second string QB look better than the starter whose place he just took.
