Think about how differently the season plays out depending on today's game...

We win - we beat Vandy like we're supposed to and all is right in the universe. We are still in control of our own destiny and Fulmer still has a chance to redeem himself by winning an SEC Championship. There is still hope for the season and we can retain our rediscovered excitement for at least another week.

We lose - in addition to the embarrassment of losing to Vandy at home (albeit they have a decent team this year...) for the SECOND straight time, we will no longer have a shot at the SEC Championship. Fulmer haters will be out for blood and the man's head will be on the chopping block.

I can't remember a game with such huge and divergent ramifications depending on the result, I mean its truly a hero or goat scenario.

Its also kind of nice that the Vandy game has so much drama attached to it... its usually kind of a sleeper.

If we are 7-4 after this game, nothing will happen to Fulmer. Even if we go 7-5 nothing will happen. Fulmer leaves next year, IMO.

I'm sorry but the thought of losing to Vandy hasn't even crossed my mind this week. Why so many think it's a possibility is beyond me.

I can... the Arkansas game last week. Every game Fulmer was involved in after the Florida debacle has been a game-to-game evaluation...

I'm not a Fulmer apologist by any means, but you have to love the fact that the secondary has gotten better as has our defense. Fulmer deserves one more year to go out on top with respect. As long as Cut understands that running the ball more than passing will win games for us, we will win the East.

But the difference I can see if that a loss to Arkansas could be justified... they had just crushed SC and have a heisman candidate lined up against our weak rush D... a loss to Vandy can't be justified or defended.

The defense has turned it around as of late. I will concede that point. But still, no excuse for us allowing Bama to just walk the dog on us... and then to have Cutcliffe say we could have scored 40-50 if we needed to...etc...

IMO it really wouldnt be about 7-4.. It would be about losing to Vandy for the 2nd straight time at home. Blowing yet another chance at going to the seccg.
Talk about coaching hot seat he loses this one and he probably move back up into the top 10.

well I think its beacause how this team has been so up and down.. a Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde type of thing. We get blown out by Florida and Bama.. Beat up on GA and Arky .. Barely beat SC.. Everyone knows UT should win over Vandy but should hasnt meant much this season.

hooray for moral victories. I'm sure the DVD will be out shortly. We won't lose to Vandy and I don't think it will be close.

I appreciate the optimism, I think chances are we win too... I just have a hard time chalking anything up as a sure thing at this point.

I sincerley hope its an easy win.

me too. we have to keep our momentum going to be effective on the road next week. if we just "escape" with a win today, there is gonna be alot of worry in this forum all week.

I think a KY win is good for us... you can only have so many great games per year... the LSU game definitely qualified for the 'cats, as well as would a win between the hedges today. Not sure they will have enough gas in the tank to beat us too.

Also, since they're not in the running for the SECE, KY won't have as much to gain/lose as we will.

i cant totally disagree with that, but i would much rather face Ky after a defeat than a huge victory.
