Just a thought...Monte may realizes that this is a big opportunity for his son and wants to be here to help out for a couple of years; bow out and Steele takes over as DC.
If Steele is not getting along well with Saban, I would think a move to UT where he would play him every year and also recruit against him would be a great "payback" motive. This could get interesting.
I feel like UT has a bunch of new gifts under the tree with this new staff and then with the "bid name" coach yet to be named will be like finding an extra gift under the tree on December 26. After all of the drama over Fulmer leaving, I have to admit that assembling an "all-star" staff is fun. Hamilton, as reported by John Pennington, is willing to spend the money to have the most expensive coaching staff in the SEC.
Where did Brent Hubbs report this? I haven't seen anything on VQ stating that Monte isn't coming.
Well if there is a chance we get Steele and MKiffin, then I will be INTENTLY watching Alabama's D and how they handle the GATORS on Saturday, would make me feel REALLY good about this staff if Steele stuffs the gators!
If anything, Bama will milk the clock and not let Tebow and company see the field.
Bama's got a great D and much of that is thanks to Steele, but that would be the best gameplan. If Tebow and Co. aren't on the field, they can't score. I personally thank too many people are overlooking Bama. I think they beat Florida something like 24-17.
