Do your own damn research. Not my problem that the UT basketball program starts and ends with a lying flake for you. Jerry Green came ridiculously close to taking this program to the same level Bruce has. Don't recall seeing him worshiped incessantly.

If you consider winning the same number of Conference Championships and having virtually the same winning percentage as Bruce Pearl disappointing, I guess you're right.

Never said that was the case merely said that is why people are apprehensive for letting him go. Jerry bowed out in first round two years he was here with his biggest run sweet sixteen as i remember. Success by tn standards sure but by most programs far from it. Think ole jerry woulda made a run his 5th year?

I was a student during the Devoe years, and I don t remember much success except a couple of first round losses. Right?

It just determines what your measurements of success are. He won virtually at the same level as Pearl as evidenced by his winning percentage. He won the East multiple times. He swept Kentucky one season, something Pearl has never done. Pearl outperformed in the NCAA tourney; that's legitimate. But, what separates people's opinions are Jerry Green's personality vs. Bruce Pearl's. Body paint vs. redneck jerk.

His success with the watered down tournament is no greater that Green or Devoe. Mears would have been in the tournament most every season if the tournament was under the same format as now. Go somewhere else with your Pearl worshiping or at least try getting some information that is accurate.

Let me see If I understand this. The bump issue is a violation but all coaches do it and you never hear about it? But since Pearl was under the light and did it, that might be the deciding factor? Kind of silly if you ask me and it everyone does it and it's as common as I've read then I don't really see what it matters. I guess you have to draw the line sometime though :confused:

Mears was never brought up so im not sure why u did. As for the watered down comment... not sure how u can make that ridiculous statement. Didnt the tourny go 64 teams mid 80's? I suppose adding that 1 team to it did water it down quite a bit!

Please allow to try to break this down for you real simple like...this is not a matter of whether Bruce is a good person or bad person, this is a simple matter of Bruce breaking rules, lying to NCAA and NCAA signaling through their findings what the likely penalties will be. Those penalties will likely make it nearly impossible for Tennessee to retain him as their basketball coach.

Them's the facts sir...no other emoting about his character or lack there of amounts to a hill of beans.

The question of his character is really between him and his mirror and God.

NCAAT Comparison of Green and Pearl:

They both lost a very close first-round 8-9 game (1998, 2009).
They both lost a late lead in a Sweet 16 game (2000, 2007).
Green had a disaster of a second-round loss in 1999, and Pearl had a disappointing 2nd-round loss as a 2-seed in 2006. I don't consider the '06 loss a disaster, because that season and seed was so far above expectations.
Green's 4-year run ended with another first-round loss in an 8-9 game in 2001. Pearl had a second Sweet 16 in 2008 and an Elite 8 in his 5th year.

Pearl's tenure might end with a finish similar to Green's 2001. Pearl would still have the Elite 8 and three Sweet 16s (counting the Elight 8 year) to Green's one.
