How will you remember Cutcliffe?

To answer the ? I appreciate his time at UT, the work he did with our QBs, and wish him the best at Duke. But honestly I am excited about the possibility of something new for our offense.

After thinking about it... I hope to remember him as the guy that came before the best OC UT ever had...

Cutcliffe's time with UT should be a lesson. The lesson is to remember history so that you are not forced to repeat it. Everyone was glad to see Cutcliffe go in 1998. Welcoming him back with open arms a few years later was foolish.

I said the exact same thing at the time. But after Cut brought discipline back to the offense I recognized that his value was worth the second stint.

Now we need a OC that can build on the discipline that our team has in place.

Sanders, and by extension Fulmer, had turned the offensive side of the ball into a total disaster. Ole Miss looked better under Orgeron. When Cut came back, he restored order and cleaned up the mess. The play-calling wasn't as good as it was 10 years ago, but we don't win anywhere 19 games the last two years without him. Instead, we'd probably be looking at a total rebuilding job that would take years, because the former regime would have just produced another losing season in '06.

I remember him as the guy that molded the mannings, was fired wrongly at ole miss, and then as we brought him under our wing for two years he left again. I always liked the guy but he really just killed me with the 3rd and 7 plays for 4 yards. Prolly the best way I can say it is a great qb coach but lacking some as an OC.

I will remember him as the guy who Peyton Manning said is a great coach and OC and helped mold him into one of the best QB's in the NFL. Oh yeah, and he won a NC.
Where, exactly, did he win a National Championship?
