How will you feel if Butch Jones is the coach next year

my mind won't let me go there. trusted pastor told me once if something causes you nothing but pain and no joy then you must let it go.

i'm not sure i'd make thru an off season knowing he is coming back honestly.

I'm good with it. I have heard very few coaches bad mouth Jones. Given the injuries, schedule, progress made, changes on offense that have not worked, and other pros, and cons, I believe another year is understandable. I do not agree with the haters and fire butchers period. More damage done by these folks than good. My opinion. I guess a couple of years from now we will see who is right. I believe good coaches are really turned off by all the hell local media and fans put on a coach here. I'm sure Fulmer, Kiffin, Dooley, and now Jones, are all telling a pretty consistent story. If truth be told, I'm betting our recruits are wanting to bail and get away from all the hate and vitriol.

I would feel better if the BEST OC came aboard and CBJ would just let them coach with no interruptions. I still think the loss to Kensucky was the last straw.

I'm sure you are right on. The recruits waiting to bail, are NOT due to fans being upset over the poor coaching our players are receiving- thus the results on the field, but, rather, the fact that the fans WANT our players to receive high quality coaching so they can excel on the field. Good point, you've really thought it through, and have come to a very logical position. :hi:

Will DVR aussie rules and rugby games over the summer so I can watch the few I didn't get to see live instead. Outside of the Vols, I don't care that much about what college ball has become anymore. Will watch just enough to make the draft interesting. Past being all in on this though. I may watch, but will not be a top priority.

GO! I would be done with UT football next year and wouldnt waste my time watching any game

I would be beyond pissed. By beyond I mean I would not watch one single game on tv. Not one.

I'm not longer watching Butch on TN sidelines. Not this season or any other.

Wanna waste alot of money? Keep Butch and lose well over half of your fans.

Didn't say anything remotely close to your interpretation. I can say with certainty that you have no f'ing clu as to what issues the administrations values over others.

Is this your severely misinformed opinion since Jones hasn't been fired yet?

You said: "I am not going to stop pulling for them like some petulant child because they didn't fire the coach."

What interpretation should I make other than you thinking that calling for Butch's job makes me a child?

He is a public figure and is very wealthy. It doesn't take a "petulant child" to call for his job and refuse to keep spending money on a losing football program.

As for having a "f'ing clu (sic) as to what the administrations (sic) values", what interpretation am I supposed to make when the football team reaches new historical low after new historical low, under a coach who can't hold a press conference without making himself a national laughingstock, and the AD, whose own annual buyout is larger than his annual salary, spends more time tweeting about non-revenue sports and emailing about stadium renovations than he does addressing the real problem?

As for where I'd stand if CBJ is brought back, I bought a ticket to UGA, @Bama, and @Mizzou over the summer, even though last year's SCar and Vandy games convinced me that CBJ needed to go, we'd keep him for 2017 because we always wait too long, and 2017 could end up being a very bad season.

I have traveled from Dallas to two games to see us outscored 86-7, and I am going to Missouri this weekend, wearing new Nike orange UT shoes. So, there's my loyalty. But, if CBJ comes back, I'll stay in Dallas next season. There is no way in the world that I will invest in another one of his games.

If the No. 1 QB in the country flips from UGA to UT, I'd still not believe in CBJ.

Then again, if he can run like a running back, perhaps we could manage 8-4 again.

The real question will be when your wife says to you....''Why haven't you got a 7 figure salaried job in which your job performance has nothing to do with job security?
