How will you feel if Butch Jones is the coach next year

Contributions and season ticket renewals would plummet. In other words, not a chance.

I hope your right but lack of any public comment by Currie and lack of action tells me if Jones can make a bowl he is here for another year. Currie is more concerned about the facilities than the product that's:banghead2: on the field . Thats just like Hamilton and who was Curries boss here when he worked at ut before..... Hamilton. http://www.volnation.com/forum/images/smilies/default/BANGHEAD2.jpg

Of course, not making a statement keeps the press off his back about how the coaching search is going and people aren't tracking every airplane that takes off or lands in Knoxville. Makes it a lot easier to do his job and keep prospects anonymous. Fans may not like it but he knows, if it's a great hire, fans will forget they were upset pretty quickly.

This is the only option where I'm out. If we hire another "Google" coach, I'd be disappointed, but I'd give him a chance. Like others have said, everyone starts as a Google coach. Butch has had his shot and failed.

I just don't think I could devote my weekends to it. I only watched a bit of the USM game. Went out and about with the family. It was nice.

I'd say some of the "true Vol fans" need to take an economics class.

Some don't comprehend that continuing to show up to Neyland to "support" this inferior product is essentially an endorsement of continuing the status quo.

So, people who are tired of an administration that doesn’t appear to value the success of the football program are now petulant children?

It sounds like you would be angry but would direct your anger at fed-up fans instead of the rich people in charge.

Didn't say anything remotely close to your interpretation. I can say with certainty that you have no f'ing clu as to what issues the administrations values over others.

Is this your severely misinformed opinion since Jones hasn't been fired yet?

I'm not sure, but the fact that I am even considering being done with it is a big move from any place I ever thought I'd find myself. I really thought Jones deserved to be fired after SC and Vandy last year but I convinced myself the smart play was to take the decision on a replacement away from Dave Hart's influence and wait a year. Basically, I think Butch had his "one more year" this season and he crapped the bed big time.

I've been a die hard fan since 85.After watching the past 10 years,if Butch is here next year I'm definitely through! It will be very evident the administration at UT doesn't give a d*** about a winning football team!I was born in Hollywood,FL right outside of Miami. So I'll be a Canes fan! Matter of fact even if they fired Jones (which I think has already happened)they better hire a proven winner or big name this time or I'm still through!

I would still support the team, but it would be hard to have any optimism towards them at all. Probably 6-6 with losses to Kentucky and Vandy among others.

I agree ! I have been a fan for around 50 yrs and i love Tennessee football . Every year I cant wait for fall to come so season will start. If UT is not committed to winning football im going to find something else for entertainment. You play the game to win not just to compete ! Im also not in on this just support players stuff. If we thought that about everything in our life nothing would ever change. Sometimes you have to remove support demand change for the better.

If he went 2-0 the place would be packed. 5-0 and all would praise him.

That is so funny and you are correct. Im not sure he would have to win 2 . I think if he changed his staff alot of people will be in again . Im done with Jones . I have gotten to a point that i cant stand him

I'd say that the feeling wouldn't change unless Butch opened the season 8-0 with a host of new staff members

Then he'd drop the remaining games (including Vandy), then talk about how young the team is as they're boarding the bus to the Belk Bowl.

GO! I would be done with UT football next year and wouldnt waste my time watching any game

I would lose interest in the games. I MIGHT watch parts of some games just to see the young talent that will play next season. I enjoyed watching the young guys to see what they could do. Chandler, Callaway, Smith on the O. Line, new kicker...etc.e tc. With games against W.V.U., Auburn, Alabama, UGA & Florida, it will be worse next year than this year.
Look at the roster next year... We get Kirkland back. We get Kelly back from injury. We lose Wolf, Vicker's, Daniel, Moseley, Martin, Josh Smith... etc. etc.

why? cause the 'certain financial ruin' of last weekend was so effective?

disagree. going to a game for most is more than just an absolute about how you feel on Butch, one way or the other.

yeah, that worked.
