How will you feel about Kiffins decision making if.....

Ok so if Nick gets on the field and does just as bad or worse, then what will you want? Put Lamaison in? Come on. I think these coaches with all of their experience know when a quarterback is or is not able to play. Stephens will see the field only if Crompton gets hurt. Kiffin doesn't want to do what Coach Fulmer did last year. IMHO rotating struggling quarterbacks makes it worse.

I say put in Stevens in and at least give him some reps, he will be here next year and I say give him a chance. Give him 5 games, like we did Crompton. If he does bad also then he does bad, its not like we are going to a BCS game this year anyways. If Stevens does bad then I will feel like we played both players and they both couldnt get it done at least we excersized every option. And hell, if we play stevens for 5 games and he is as horrible, play Lamasion. Why not?

I see what you're saying. And I think Stephens will be the front-runner for the starting job next year anyway. Unless Tyler Bray comes in and performs really well in practice. In games where it is clearly out of hand to win, I would like to see Stephens get some gametime snaps. You can't simulate that in practice.

Precisely. I agree with every single thing you just said. So....what harm could it do to rotate them against Ga next week? Or just let Stephens start the 2nd half if Crompton is having another spasmodic performance.

What harm? lol

Thats all Crompton needs is his confidence even lower getting rotated with someone who apparently is no better per the coaches.

And you think the WR/QB timing is off now? Put a different QB in and it only gets worse.

So Stephens comes in and cant do a damn thing, we go back to Crompton who now has given up completely after being benched.

Yea sounds like a great scenario to me.

Normally if things are bad I am all for a change, but the Staff is not avoiding the issue for a reason and its not because they owe something to Crompton like the last staff would. Crompton has all the skill in the world he just needs it to click. He was clicking damn good at the end of the game on both drives, whos to say something like that isnt what he needs?

How many games has he started? Last season he got rotated in and out and they went through changes non stop and he never had the chance to settle in.

This season hes got new WRs, WRs who have been hurt and WRs who are not doing ANYTHING to help him. If the ball isnt right on the money they drop it 98% of the time.

So you tell me, what good would it do to put in a QB who clearly has no confidence from the staff to get the job done?

If Jeff Cottam doesnt slip on that 3rd down, and we cover on the kick return and JC takes us down the field again and scores how many people are on here praising him?

How many years of coaching experience do you have? We need to get your resume over to MH since you clearly have a solid grasp on everything especially the team and how they are practicing etc. We should just fire Kiffin now since hes obviously got some ulterior motive to keeping Crompton on the field. Crompton must have nude Layla photos or something, I mean he cant be better than Stephens at all, they wouldnt know if he was being with them both every single day.

I wont even touch the Lamaison comment, thats just pure stupidity.

Because the coaches don't need to play two guys in games when they've already proven they aren't as good as Crompton. You act like this is some kind of mystery the coaches need to solve by piecing together clues from our five games. These guys play everyday in practice. Lamaison is nowhere near ready. Kiffin was still in the huddle with him to get him running the right plays when the other two were flying solo.

And even with all of the criticism of Crompton, has anyone stopped to think about the kicking game. If Lincoln makes the missed FG, the extra point isn't blocked and we get to kick the extra point after the game closing TD, we win the game?

What was up with the blocked point after anyway????

I dont know who is the answer is at QB, but why not start developing someone for next year. We know this is a 3 year plan or project for Kiffen to get the right players for his system. Or does this show the qb recruits they will have a chance to start as a freshman because we have no one left at qb to develop.....Auburn played soft defense the whole 4th quarter or we probably don't score. Two minute offense was awful against UCLA and Florida because they were still playing D....

How will you feel about Kiffins decision making abilities if they finally break down and bench Crompton and put Stevens in the game and he plays good enough for us to win. I think that this would make me angry at Kiffin for not giving Stevens a chance earlier and maybe salvaging a better winning record. And to reply to what some of you will write, I do not buy in that Stevens is worse than Crompton. NO WAY IS HE WORSE! Even if he is as bad, at least we would know that we didnt leave any stone uncovered.

Granted Stevens played bad at Wyoming but that was under special circumstances (Fulmer firing), you could tell the life was sucked out of all of the players after that happened.

The "Fulmer was fired" excuse is a lame copout for Ginger defenders. Wyoming also fired its coach before the game. Was the life sucked out of their players?

I did and at least I saw Stevens complete a few deep balls to Moore. How many passes over 15 yards have you seen Crompton complete this year? Granted Stevens played bad at Wyoming but that was under special circumstances (Fulmer firing), you could tell the life was sucked out of all of the players after that happened. I am just saying if we put Stevens after the Alabama game and he plays fairly well. I am talking game manager well, not Peyton Manning or anything. I will pissed at Kiffin for sticking with Crompton for so long when maybe Stevens could just not lose the game for us.

So on the film from last year you think that Stevens looks worse than Crompton this year? Mabye you need to watch this years film.

would like to know what film you are talking about and were did you see it.as far as i know,NS has not played any this year so there fore, there is no film on him.just a lot of BS from you.

I have a question for anyone out there. To be honest I cannot decide if I want NS over JC. However, if NS practices as well if not better than him.... what are the realistic chances he switches it around? Just a gut feeling, but I think JC did enough in Kiffin's mind to keep the job from the two minute offenses.

I think Kiffin made the right decision to bench Stephens so he can apply for a medical redshirt for another year of elgibility.

CLK might be dumb sometimes, but he ain't stupid. You will not see NS UNLESS JC gets his head torn off. If CLK were to put NS in now and he plays good, it will show his ignorance.

this post is spot on...JC is the best we have now. sad but true. we also have the 5% to club out there who DROP THE PASS. 1,4,87.

a medical redshirt when he's been healthy all season? Not sure it works that way

I have no coaching experience whatsoever, but I have been following the vols, pro and college football my entire life. I have never seen such a poor qb performance over 5 games without a coach giving someone else a try.....never. I saw donovan mcnabb get benched last year for 1 crompton like game, even with everything mcnabb has accomplished with the eagles. It doesn't take a resume to have some balls and bench crompton and let another guy have a chance. And you talk about us having to put crompton back in, no matter how bad we do with stevens I still don't want crompton back in. He has never won at ut so why would we be begging to put him back in? Stevens will be here next year, get him some reps. We are not going to win with crompton, the season is already going down the tubes. Fans are leaving at the beginning of the 4th quarter because we are down 1 score and old people are cursing crompton in the bleachers.
