I hope you are dead wrong about the halftime score. There should be no slow starts against these Gamecocks or anyone else left on Tennessee's regular season schedule.

I hope I'm wrong and I agree with your assessment. I just think there's a good chance that the initial game plan will be ultra conservative due to our injury situation.

There's talk on several sports sites that South Carolina may switch to their four-star freshman QB against UMASS.
Their current QB Mcllwain's mom went off on a Facebook post.
Saying any QB will have great numbers against UMASS and that's why they're doing it. So he can get the coach's son in and make it look good.

It was fairly entertaining.

The Vols win if: Jalen Hurd suddenly starts looking like Jalen Hurd of last year and Dobbs runs the ball more.
If the Vols turn the ball over they will lose a close one in Columbia and dash their hopes for memorable season

I just don't feel good about this game on the road with all the injuries.
Is Muschump & SC a shark in the water, waiting for the wounded Vols?

Saw that. The son is Jake Bentley. Dad is RB coach Bobby Bentley.

He was the head coach of the high school dynasty Byrnes HS in Spartanburg, SC for years.

Both this game and the Mizzou game make me nervous. We have way more talent, even with the injuries, but I could see either of those teams playing harder than UT and getting the upset. I think we will lose one more game this season.

I think it will be a 21-10 or 21-13 type game. Similar to their game vs A&M. They're not very good, but they have just enough talent to keep games against superior opponents within range.

Agree with all this. Plus, Muschamp hates UT and will bill this as the game of the year for his team and fans.

I have to agree I need to understand who is most likely ready to play before being solid with my prediction. That said Muschamp for all his issues is a good defensive coach. I suspect we'll struggle early offensively with them, perhaps the whole first half and then beat them the second half. Something along the lines of their game with UGA earlier this year.

.....and Tennessee can't even do this........this is what scares me....

Butch holds emergency advanced signing day, calls up Maryville HS players to sub in (I keed of course).

Run 3 times up the middle, punt.
2nd drive throw incomplete to wide open guys or a screen into coverage for a pick 6.

Just went on their forum. Some of them think they can beat us.

One post said "Starts against UMass. Get a good confidence builder of a win. And then I think we can compete against Tenn. They seem to be in sort of a mini tailspin. I think their good luck has run out. They got a few injuries and dismissals (both players and coaches) to deal with. Plus we flat out owe them."

Not sure if I'm more surprised they think we only have a "few" injuries, or that South Carolina has a message board.

How will the South Carolina game go?

My guess is.....that since it's not on CBS next week the game will at least NOT GO 5 damn hours. So, that's a plus.

Get back to me in a week when I see who is back and ready to go.

I keep waiting for this team to come out firing on all cylinders and play a complete game, but they keep laying an egg early in games. They are long overdue. We need a comfortable win over Carolina and then another over Tech so we can hit the final three games with confidence.

I have no idea what to expect at USC.

I wouldn't be shocked to see us struggle against South Carolina. They always seem to play us tough no matter the talent difference much like we do UGA. However, I do expect to see a lot more production out of our offense.

If Cocky can get by UMASS this week, then the Vol game becomes a must win for their bowl eligibility.

Then, they will likely play with a desperation that could be dangerous if we are still beat up.

If they lose to UMASS, which they could find a way to do, then we will roll them because their season is functionally over.
Not necessarily. Than we become thir bowl game.

south carolina is terrible---their offense looks worse than muschamp had at florida, which was bad! UT wins easily.
