You think if he makes it 8, 10, 15 years etc in good standing (2 or 3 SEC champs, possible NC, multiple 8 or 9 win seasons plus) he bleeds orange longer and takes over AD after he's done (just because of his history, dad's history, being a lawyer, just seems like the type of dude to do that rather than fade away or go to the NFL)...stupid way too distant speculation post on my part...nevermind

I think he has the potential to be like Saban or Meyer, but I'm inclined to think at this point he'll be more like Richt or Tubbs.

I predicted that the Kitten hire would be the start of your programs wandering in the wilderness, much like Bama did for so long. Y'all will run him off in three years or less along with the AD.

That's where I went and I honestly hope that it happens. I think it will if the idiotic portion of our fan base will leave him alone and let him get his program in here.

The main difference between Dooley and Saban/Meyer is that Dooley has never had the success on an executive level that Saban and Meyer have had.

I say executive level, as I believe he was on staff for one of Saban's NC years. But his role was not that of head coach nor of OC/DC.

Dooley's success has little to do with whether our fan base will "leave him alone". He is an unproven commodity as head coach (not to forget, about 7th on our list of replacements at the time of his hiring). It is perfectly legitimate to be skeptical until results are seen on the field, on the recruiting trail, in the classroom, and in the deportment and attitude of the players.

Your predictions aren't viewed with any reverence around here and are really generally ignored.

I voted Shula/Zook which is a shame cause I feel like if we gave him time he could atleast match Richt and Tubberville but I don't think our fanbase will be patient enough for him to ever get there so I doubt we'll ever know.

The MAJORITY thinks he will be Saban/Meyer level? Wow, we've got some homers on here...

I’ll play the purely speculative game: He’ll play for and win a NC if the fan base gives him time.

Reason 1: He recognizes what great players with character look like. He’ll bring in those that fit his mold and will take limited chances on the high risk recruits.
Reason 2: He can recruit (proven LSU recruiting coord + closed well last year, and take notice of what the current recruits think of Dooley + staff). FYI…Saban couldn’t recruit to LA Tech.
Reason 3: He knows what a great assistant coach looks like and I believe he surrounded himself with them.
Reason 4: He + staff will develop players…wait and see.
Reason 5: He + staff understand motivation/team first.
Reason 6: He's an organized perfectionist who uses the words “britches” and “dinner” and wears a cool hat :D

Dreaming for the best but went with the Tommy Tuberville/Mark Richt option

I honestly think he will be here a good 5 years, win a SEC Title, but at that point start to level off and the fanbase after about 3 straight 8 win seasons in Dooley's 7, 8th, and 9th season will be impatient and want a change.

Don't think he will ever get us to winning back to back Na Cha's but get us back in the SEC elite and win us a title or two.
