Born an hour north of Knoxville. It would've been pretty hard to not be a UT fan. Especially since I was a little kid during the time we were dominating everyone in the world not named Florida.
Moved to Tennessee the same time that Casey Clausen became QB. My mom went to college with Casey's aunt so we always got tickets. That's how it all started. Loved every second of it!
Went to this game too, as a 9 year old with my parents. Recall UT falling behind 17-14 in the 4th quarter, but they came back with 2 4th-quarter TD's to win 28-17.
when you're blood runs orange you have no choice but to be....should see the phlebotomist face when they take blood from me and it's orange and not red.
I can't remember my first game I saw. However, driving from Nashville going to Gatlinburg and the GSM's in the late 70's driving through Knoxville on game day and listening to the game. Visiting Knoxville in 80 for the worlds fair and getting to see the stadium. Went to several games as a kid and was in school there in 94. Wish I could go to a game now but kinda hard being over 1000+ miles away.
Parents and wife are alums. Grew up listening to John Ward. Dad took me to my first game sometime in the 60s when the north endzone was open and people sat on the side of the hill. My dad used to walk to games from the Ag campus.
Now my kids are UT fans and my grandkids wear orange.
