After reading the "you know you're a true fan when" thread, I thought it would be interesting to see WHY/HOW you became a fan.

For me it was my Dad listening to the radio broadcast with his friends in the stockroom of a grocery store one of the friends owned in the early 80s. Been a fan since the Big Orange was black & white at my house.

My dad is a huge Vols fan, I believe that's how I became one. I just recently seen some pics of me when I was 1 or 2 in a orange Tennessee outfit that I've never seen before, lol. Been a Vols fan since I can remember.

I'm also a huge Blue Raiders fan too.

I was born this way.

:lolabove:. I am from Knoxville and I grew up around it... my dad and older bro are both huge UT fans, so growing up that is how I spent my Saturdays in the fall... either watching the games at Neyland or on TV with my family.

I grew up working on a farm, on Saturdays we listen to John Ward on the radio in the old farm truck. I been a Vol fan since 1970 (11-1 and won Sugar Bowl).

Was born into it.

With Alabama fans on one side of my family and Vanderbilt fans on another, my dad made sure my brother and I were all BIG ORANGE.

My friend and I went to the UCLA game in 1970 - turned out to be a exciting, come-from-behind win for the Vols. That was all it took.

Born that way. Raised in Union City and went to high school under coach Bruce Burnham who played for UT. Same team as Stockton Adkins and Johnny Majors. Could not root for anybody but UT !!!
