How well will our kicking game be against Florida?

On a serious note, I thought Darr was very impressive on Sat.

Also, I was extremely worried about the 2nd half kick-off from the 20. We kicked it to the 5, which is 75 yards. The return was only out to the 30 or so. In years past, the return would have been past mid-field and UGA would have scored in about 3 plays. Instead we get the int. Great job by Medley kicking it deep.

So if Medley can kick it 75 yards why isn't he consistently kicking for touchbacks? I would take a touchback every time.

Haven't posted much but this is an informed post and wanted you to know. IMO to answer your question, coaches want to press the kicking game to get a break (ie: turnover or tackle short of the 20) the more yards you put behind your defense the higher success rate of stopping the opposing offense. So kicking it in the box is what this will achieve. But isn't nice to know that the coaches have options to either kick to a certain area (accuracy) and power to kick it deep when you're kicking from the twenty.

I'd go for touchbacks this week.

You let Andre Debose return kicks and Florida might actually score.

Footballdad,

Thanks for the info, but with a touchback I know what I'm getting. Letting some of these SEC guys return kicks, given our history, I'd rather not take that chance.
