How we feeling?

Hope all has been well. Your boy's are looking good so far and I'm more nervous than a politician in a lie detector test. Our run game looks good but downfield throws/reads look shaky. Your new qb is an upgrade and the d looks improved. How are you all feeling? Go Dawgs!
Everyone will be safe ant the game unless any of the dogs decide to drive up to Knoxville. Two deaths and multiple super speeding tickets over the past 5 years and nobody gets punished if you are on the team.
I live here in GA where the law is a two tier system. Bulldog players and everyone else.

I’ll bite :

Vols win going away. I’m not kidding.

UGA is way better than us. Sometimes the worse team wins (The UGA- Tenn game in 2001 where unranked UGA beat the number six Vols - probably our best team of that whole 15 year run- I’m not over it and never will be- as an example…)

Very rarely has that happened to Kirby Smart.

But there is one difference that I think will be glaring Saturday- there are only maybe one or two out of the starting 22 where Tennessee has a better player than Georgia…. One of them, however, is QB.
I have a feeling that the noise of Neyland coupled with a beyond relentless blitz will make the difference. Gunner going to throw some picks. And maybe a pick six on that out pattern he likes.

UT has to win the turnover margin by at least two to have a chance in a lopsided (on paper) game like this - and I believe they will.

All the respect in the world to the Dawgs. You, as everyone knows, are much better than us.

But this game goes to the good guys this year- and gets out of reach late….34-17.

You can throw everything that has happened so far this season out the window when it comes to UGA. For the last 8 seasons they have always come ready to play in this game and nothing will be different this year. JA will have to be great in this game to win. As well as the OL. Hopefully we can defend their TEs unlike last year, but this game has kind of gotten to where the UF game was for so many years in that, I cant predict a W until I see them get over this hump.

Georgia coming off a sluggish, unmotivated performance against a crap opponent while Tennessee looks like world beaters against an even crappier opponent. Feels very familiar…

Georgia wins until Tennessee proves it.

To be honest, I think Georgia has the BEST team in the SEC this year but may still need to iron out some kinks. I think Tennessee has a great chance to win this one. It means more to Tennessee. Georgia can probably shake off the L and still compete for the SEC and National Title.
Yep. Georgia is still the standard of the conference. Even with their issues so far they’re still a top five team imo.

Well we're back to tempo which makes me feel good but UGA always had our tempo and how to slow down figured out. So I'm not confident but hopeful. Go vols!

We see poor play from the dogs against Highschool Teams year after year then come out and look like #1 Team in the country when they play TN. I dont think we are good enough yet to beat UGA. 27-13 UGA wins.

I am leery of Georgia. I think everybody has been fooled enough by the same ole "UGA struggling early, they look beatable, etc." Regardless of Stockton not having a stellar start, or even some play calling concerns by Bobo, the Dawgs are still one of the top 5 most talented teams in the nation. Stockton doesn't even have to have his best day to beat us. He just has to play smart, get the ball to his playmakers, and lean on the run game + D which seem good enough to enforce UGA's will on opponents. Defensively, the front 7 is loaded with size, athleticism, and speed. They will cause us a lot of issues for sure. UGA can dink and dunk and get some chunk run plays to grind out the game.

For Tennessee, the keys to winning are OL play and getting our defense off the field on 3rd downs. I think Aguilar has really shown he can work in this system, and the WRs are looking good enough too. However, Aguilar has not really been challenged yet this year as neither Syracuse or ETSU had any pressure on him. UGA will, and we will see if he can successfully work off script or start to look like last year at App St. Defensively, I have a lot of concerns about our DBs. They gave up some chunk plays against Syracuse, and even a few times against ETSU looked out of place. Plus, our DL is already facing injuries, so we are a little softer there than I think we need to be heading into this match up.

For those reasons, I still lean towards UGA playing bully ball and winning this match up. My heart says Vols all the way, but my head says this is shaping up to be another beat down. I do think we keep it tight for 4 quarters and have a realistic chance of pulling the upset.
With all due respect, how can it be a beatdown and us also having a chance for the upset after keeping it close for 4 qtr?

If we were healthy at CB and RT I'd feel a lot better about our chances. Kirby will have his kids ready, that much is for certain, but this appears to be the best shot we've had in many years - the operative words being "appears to be". The days of moral victories are over - we're competing at an elite level on the recruiting front, we've got the resources and facilities, now it's time to play at that level as well. Should be a great game.

Funny enough both of our starting CBs in this game are from Georgia and neither was on our team last season.

Our defense will need to cause a turnover or two.

Our offense is getting into gear and it has evolved but the Georgia defense is too deep and talented.

The special teams can help us flip the field and the kicker is solid.

Georgia is still talented, but we should make them work…
