How we feeling?

Agreed. I think they both bring it all. We are going to find out how our teams really look after this Saturday.

To be honest, I think Georgia has the BEST team in the SEC this year but may still need to iron out some kinks. I think Tennessee has a great chance to win this one. It means more to Tennessee. Georgia can probably shake off the L and still compete for the SEC and National Title.

Welcome back @Fadeproof !

I’ve enjoyed Rabun County’s finest ever since the Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia.

TOUGH KID.

That said, I really like our chances if Gunner has to throw mid-to-long for y’all to have success.
Always good to be here KC. Agreed. If we cant run the ball we are in trouble.

I am leery of Georgia. I think everybody has been fooled enough by the same ole "UGA struggling early, they look beatable, etc." Regardless of Stockton not having a stellar start, or even some play calling concerns by Bobo, the Dawgs are still one of the top 5 most talented teams in the nation. Stockton doesn't even have to have his best day to beat us. He just has to play smart, get the ball to his playmakers, and lean on the run game + D which seem good enough to enforce UGA's will on opponents. Defensively, the front 7 is loaded with size, athleticism, and speed. They will cause us a lot of issues for sure. UGA can dink and dunk and get some chunk run plays to grind out the game.

For Tennessee, the keys to winning are OL play and getting our defense off the field on 3rd downs. I think Aguilar has really shown he can work in this system, and the WRs are looking good enough too. However, Aguilar has not really been challenged yet this year as neither Syracuse or ETSU had any pressure on him. UGA will, and we will see if he can successfully work off script or start to look like last year at App St. Defensively, I have a lot of concerns about our DBs. They gave up some chunk plays against Syracuse, and even a few times against ETSU looked out of place. Plus, our DL is already facing injuries, so we are a little softer there than I think we need to be heading into this match up.

For those reasons, I still lean towards UGA playing bully ball and winning this match up. My heart says Vols all the way, but my head says this is shaping up to be another beat down. I do think we keep it tight for 4 quarters and have a realistic chance of pulling the upset.

Tennessee's two best CBs are out, two of our projected starting DL are out for indefinite lengths, and the best remaining one may be out for the UGA game, and our superstar NFL-ready freshman OL is out too.

Just don't feel great about it. If we had our usual run-stopping meat machines in the trenches I'd feel good - not great, but good. We have talent, but the experience is sorely needed for this one.

Smart will chew his team's asses out all week to be ready for this one. "You know why Gameday's coming? They think we're weak. They think we're going down. They want to broadcast Tennessee upsetting us!" Etc. It's his trademark motivational tactic. "Nobody believes in us." Every damn time. He's gonna have UGA worked up to make a statement.

None of this would be an excuse. If we lose, we lose. I just wish we had all the starters we thought we'd have for this one.

I actually think Hood is better than Gibson. He leads the SEC in PBU's. Would love to have McCoy and Hood out there. Ty Redmond has played really well too. I'd bet anything that Sanders plays this weekend. My biggest concern is our DLine stopping Stockton's QB runs, with Hobbs,Weathersby and Moi hurt. Although I think Moi could be back this weekend.

Also, I highly doubt Smart things Game Day is coming because they think GA is weak and nobody believes in them. That's not why Gameday shows up. Not to mention, I doubt many think we will actually beat GA, considering our history shows we cannot. Gameday is coming because of the atmosphere, the matchup, the rivalry( even though they own us) and 2 pretty good teams banging it out. And the ratings! If anyone should be motivated for lack of respect, it would be us. We started out as 7 pt dogs in our own house and to one of the very few teams that's had success in Neyland.

Ga is missing quite a few starters too, especially on their Oline. Both teams have injury concerns, they just have more depth than us.

Did you watch the first two games? I'm assuming you didn't because it's impossible to watch those games and think this is the same Georgia team we are used to seeing.

Hope all has been well. Your boy's are looking good so far and I'm more nervous than a politician in a lie detector test. Our run game looks good but downfield throws/reads look shaky. Your new qb is an upgrade and the d looks improved. How are you all feeling? Go Dawgs!

This is the most optimistic I've felt about a Georgia game since probably 2015. That being said, if I were a betting man, I'd have to put my money on Georgia just out of respect for Kirby and in acknowledgement of Tennessee's long, ongoing losing streak to Georgia. I have a high opinion of Heupel and the Tennessee players but, if I'm being objective, I have to say Georgia 30, Tennessee 20.

Until we show that we can even hang close with Georgia, it's hard for me to believe it. Can we win? Sure, it's possible but it just doesn't seem likely. Georgia has made us look bad the last four years, winning by an average of 20 points (and by an average of 26 the last two in Knoxville!). I hope I'm wrong but I don't feel good about this game.

Not the full games, but highlights. Again, UGA has pulled this same trick on the SEC the last several years: looks meh against their cupcakes, only to turn it on for league play. Like clockwork every year.

I wouldnt say it means more to us. It’s a huge game for both. Georgia is being questioned right now and they will want to come out and change the narrative. A lot of questions will be answered Saturday.

It doesn't matter why they are there. It matters how he uses it to motivate his team. That's what the poster was saying. Kirby is really good for saying whatever to fit the bill for motivation. "Nobody gave us a chance. Nobody believed in us." Says the coach with the most talented team. LOL

this2.pngExactly. The truth won't matter. He'll light a fire under their asses all week about some way they're being disrespected, either by the media or the networks or the fans or whoever. It's what he does.

Fadeproof you seem like a nice guy, but this is game week. I don’t like Georgia, I don’t like bulldogs, I don’t like Georgia Bulldogs fans this week.

To all the Vol fans remember what happens when you feed the animals. We have a gator fan on this board that you guys were nice to about 15 years ago and he never left. Fade I hope you’re not a lawyer?

PS

Fade if you’re coming to Knoxville for the game on Saturday hope you have a great time until 3:30 pm and then I hope we put 60 on Georgia’s azz and you go home sad.

Respect. Also I have been here 20 and @lawgator1 has always been respectful. Despite the mutual hate.
