How Was The New Party Deck? Pics?

I would like to respond to a poster in another thread who asked if you needed a special ticket to get in there. The answer is yes, it’s some kind of wristband. I could never get an answer for how one could be obtained. My seats were right next to it though, and I would have loved to watch the game from in there. It looked amazing.

I read an article that said tickets were $110-Ish each and some still available as of Tuesday. I can’t remember which site it was because I literally read everything I could find.

It will be interesting to see how they end up selling them, but I imagine they are trying to market it toward corporate parties the way the article read.

A group of us bought tickets for the Florida game, it’s a separate purchase in the “premium” offerings of the stadium

My seats are right beside the party deck. I was texting a friend of mine about the deck during the game and my extact words to him were that it looked painful. There are ZERO chairs or seats of any kind in that area. You have to stand the entire time. Most people I saw come in would find a spot to stand and not move the rest of the night. There isnt food specific for that area, just beer, at least as far as I could see. You have to leave the deck to get food. At trust me as a long time upper deck season ticket holder, the lines in the upper deck can get long for very sparse selection of food. 20220901_182051.jpg

So, I should definitely bring some cocktail peanuts.

Looks pretty sparsely populated!

That was probably 45 minutes before the game. It was full at least at the rails during. I think the novelty of it will go away quickly.

It’s probably a work in progress. I could see the potential in it. I thought it looked like a pretty cool spot once things got going.

And there is where your opinion and mine do not agree. I think your previous poster is right. The novelty of it will go away quickly.

I recall when Lucas Oil was built here in Indianapolis and they incorporated the same kind of party deck.
The first few games it was well received then towards the end of the season the 'new' was wearing off.
That's when Colts management shook things up a little and added different concession offerings at the stands around that area.

The next year they added some different seating options, next couple of years they added a dedicated concession area on the deck, then started doing things more personal experience centered as well (like dedicated programs, dedicated Wi-Fi for deck fans, etc.). In other words it has been a work in progress and steadily improved over the years - I expect the same for Neyland as well.

One thing the Colts did, and I'm not sure how UT could pull this off, is there are restroom facilities literally right outside of the party deck area at both ends. Not 100% sure where the deck in Neyland is located, but I would think having modern facilities very close to the deck area would be a huge boost.

Close enough to restrooms. About a 50 ft walk.

I think it is definitely aimed at a younger crowd. As a previous poster said you have to stand the entire game. The bar counters are first come first serve so you need to make sure once you get a spot not to leave unless you have friends saving your spot. If you don’t get one of those you just have to stand on the bar level. And just think for over $100 this can be yours.

There is something close to this in nearly every single NFL stadium. Even if the novelty wears off, it's not going anywhere.

Which is weird that they would aim it towards the younger crowd when most of the bigger spenders (folks with the most disposable income) are 'older'...I can see there being some seating options added to this either by end of season or next year for sure.

Worked for the Chop House at Turner Field

Of course, that don’t cost hundreds per head.

I could see the appeal for those who don’t want to sit still so long. I know my arse gets tired quick sitting on a steel bench.
