How UT beats UGA

If you think this defense is tough wait till we play alabama...we will lose by at least 45 to 55 points...we will be down 35 to 38 points at half time..then get the 2nd string to score at will on us too...just like they did against vanderbilt..

But i do agree with ya..they will be in our backfield like their the ones calling the play!!!

Broad is the orange sea ! The calm b4 the storm ! My take on ga is simple! The fricken storms coming! Prepare your self for the Tennessee you have been waiting on! Go Vols! Players stepping up ! Leaders emerge!

This is going to be a war. Make no mistake. Tennessee has played great against Georgia with their backs against the wall going all the way back to 07. I expect nothing but more of the same. It's a perfect setup for Tennessee to upset Georgia. Georgia coming off a big win and Tennessee underperforming to this point. Same book, different chapter. 04 comes to mind, UGA slaughters NC Champ LSU, UT loses to Auburn, Tn wins 19-14. 07, very similar to this year, 35-14 in saving Fulmer's job for a year, it can happen, and here is how.

1. Create turnovers
2. Make Fromm look like a freshman-pressure
3. Contain the run, can't stop it but force 3rd downs making Fromm make decisions
4. On offense, quick slants, WR bubble screens, RB screens. Keep the DL honest and get playmakers in the secondary, their weak link.
5. Score early, gain confidence. Overcoming 24-3 and 17-0 deficits the last two years against UGA will be harder to overcome with this defense. Less than 20 points has been scored on the 1st string defense for UGA.
6. Hit 300 yards offense-no one has done it yet this year and Mullen for the first time in his career was under 300
7. Last, time of possession, take control of the game

Here is the stats against UGA defense, this was in the 3rd, MSU got some yards in the 4th,

This all sounds wonderful..if i were wanting you to read me a bed time story..its all not realistic...nothing you said is going happen...in fact, everything you said in every category is the total opposite..im a vols fan, but i live in reality, not hopes and dreams and for someone to sprinkle knowledge dust on our coaching staff..or for our players to magically get developed like they should of been 2 years ago..lets just face the music now..the worst is about to start this saturday...and it wont end till november!!!

Let me know how that turns out for ya at the end of the fourth quarter...or if you dont want to wait that long i can go ahead tell ya...i dont want to spoil it for ya though.

UGA isn't going to play "trick" D's because they don't feel they have to.

UT needs Robertson back at C. God bless C Thomas... he just isn't very good. Hopefully Boulware earned the LG spot. That OL plus the other three original starters is pretty good. UGA is probably going to try to shut UT's run game down early. They've seen UT's WR's and will probably do all they can with coverages to confuse and frustrate them.

The WR's have to play well and QD has to throw it well. The O has to do GREAT at pass pro. If you can take the run only focus away from their D and make them play straight up... Kelly will look like the best RB on the field.

On D, the obvious answer is to slow their run game down... but UT best blitz early and often to prevent whichever QB they play from getting comfortable. UT's CB's have to hold up in man coverage. This game could come down to a key as simple as who wins the WR-CB battle when UT is on D. I have confidence in Moseley. I hope Wiggins plays the other side. If not... IMO they are left with playing Gaulden outside or else playing a hybrid D with man on one side and lots of help on the other. Martin hasn't shown that he can cover anyone UGA has.

Man I love those uniforms. I hope they don't screw up the mojo.

I know I'm committing heresy here... but I wish those were the regular home colors. I just love that look... and there's just something about a team playing in black uniforms or gray ones as close as those. Didn't someone prove that certain colors enhance aggression with black being the highest?

Personally, I think focusing on their run game is a trap. They have one freshman QB and one QB that hasn't proved himself yet. Go after them. Disrupt the QB, who ever he is, and you have a shot.

Go after them with who? We dont have the pass rush anymore. Barnett is gone. If he was still here, then I would feel much mire comfortable. But look at the facts, our leader in sacks is Colton Jumper. Taylor, Phillips and Kongbo rarely get to the QB. So how do we get after Fromm?

Ugh. Another thought out thread just to be ambushed and frankly butchered by the VN masses sitting in the cheap seats.

Freak - you should require a drop of blood. Just to confirm human ....

Taylor is flirting with a breakout game and Phillips is coming out of no where.

Nice post. I am going to boil it down a touch from my take:

1. Stack the box and make the frosh throw - period
2. Pass must set up the run (I know, nuts)

On number 2 - they are going to stack the box on Kelly. We must be aggressive on first and second down and throw the ball across the middle.

I guess I don't understand all the crazy negativity. Yes I realize we looked bad vs Umass but we also beat Ga Tech which beat last yr Georgia team between the hedges. In other words every Sat is different let's get loud and get behind our team Sat. And see what happens. Let's just quit crowning Georgia and acting like we have no shot! 👍😎

Atta baby fatdad! Refreshing to get some new perspective

I'll flip it. Tennessee has a HUGE problem this game. Who's going to be TE? Will it be will jumper? Would not surprise me to see us burn a redshirt at TE. Austin pope had a great spring, as well as Bumphus.probably going to be throwing one of these uber talented freshmen in at TE IMO.

GA will show up all full of piss and vinegar like they always do and we will take them to the the wire like we always do.
We're playing at home, this is a 3 point +/- game in the end.

Say what? 3 points? More like we will lose by at least 16..thats even saying are offense is playing at 100%..because make no mistake about it...UGA is going to put alot of points on the board against our below average defense...they might punt 3 times the whole game..maybe 4 if were lucky...nick chubb will have over 150 yards rushing by himself..with at least 2 touch downs and probably one more catching a pass out of the backfield.. which means they are gonna go right after our pathedic secondary and air it out all night..at will!! This UGA team is 100% better than last years team..are we 100% better than last year...well hell no...total opposite...

Dont worry QD will throw it for sure if he feels the slightest pressure...only problem is it will be to the other team..
