How upset will you be if we lose to WV?

The amount of people contemplating that firing Pruitt would even be an option....
GOOD LORD. Some of you really don’t know anything do you? This WHOLE SEASON will be rough. I’m not pessimistic, I hope we win every game, but I’m also realistic. But imagine being handed a pile of crap and told to make it into a castle... thats what some of y’all expect out of this guy. Pump the dang brakes and take it easy..

Under such circumstances, a lost will hurt more (Oklahoma game type pain) but we'll end up looking forward to an exciting season and enjoying the ride.

I won't be....I expect it...Won't want to fire Pruitt but he can't work miracles in one season.

I actually expect us to lose.

New q.b. to break in. i doudt JG starts that game. New q.b. will have to get adjusted to new coach and new offense.
Lost Kelly, so Chandler, who is fully capable and others will have to step up.

Lost db's in Sugar Shane Mosely, Gaulden. Lost tight end.

Kirkland is back and that is good. Jennings is back and that is good.

Apathy set in pretty well with me a few years ago with this program.

WVU should win this game going away but if the Vols at least put up a fight I'll be pleased. If they get blasted I won't be pleased.

WVU is hardly "mediocre". And a MUCH better team than we are presently. No shame in losing to a better team.

Fan is short for "fanatic," of course.

And most fan bases are a lot like us. Some hopeless Pollyannas, some equally hopeless Eeyores, and a lot of folks in the middle who vary in their confidence, fears, and hopefulness in a far more complex way than any label can capture.

I expect the Vols to pull the "so called" upset of WV and their high-powered offense.

However, I will only be upset if we play below our talent and capabilities. At the end of the day, beating SEC opponents takes higher priority; especially very winnable but tough games against SCAR, Flordy, KY, MIZZOU and that pesky little Vandy squad.

You will be extremely disappointed because WV will have a high powered offense and with our your young defense, they will be us by at least 20 points, we will be lucky to win 5 games, going to be a long season.

Depends on how we were to get beat. If we play hard, hustle and play well but WV is just better, it won't bother me to much. If we spit the bit out, don't out hit those suckers.....I'll be disappointed.

We are certainly able to win this game. It is greatly going to depend on how much Pruitt and co. have improved things. If we don't look like a completely different team, WVU will smoke us.

pismonque, you are correct on the INTs. I went back and looked and I can't even figure out how I made the mistake. My apologies.

Looks like we started watching the Eers about the same. Sadly it appears you turned to the Orange dark side. :p

WV is expected to have a high scoring offense and good defense. Tennessee is hoping to have a respectable offense. It is a new, first year offense, with serious questions about the O-line. We're hoping for it to do well. Our defense? We're hoping for it to be respectable, also. Hoping. Coaches and players are working hard, and they are a pretty good bunch. So Tennessee has a puncher's chance. Maybe our guys will exceed expectations. I am hoping they will.

We shouldn't lose to W.Va and don't think that we will.

W.Va will never have a good defense. They finished 106th in total defense last year.W.Va padded their numbers against really slow and bad Defense's. They finished 7-6 in a mediocre Big 12. Don't expect them to be much better this yr.
