I think for us to have a chance we'll have to go hard at Grier, get in his face and knock him down a few times. He's really talented but he can be a turnover machine too. We just need to get him out of his game.
Of course, even if we do, we still have to score points so who the hell knows what's gonna happen there.
Not sure where you got this from. We were ranked #28 in sacks allowed. Grier's TD/INT was 34/12. There's no place that has INTs attributable to tips or the WRs but I know there were several. Of course I guess there were probably balls that should have been intercepted too.
Your concern with Grier should be the deep ball. He is the best I've seen at WVU in 30+ years. For your viewing pleasure (take note of some of the receivers)...
Will Grier 2017-2018 Highlights - YouTube
2 things will decide this game for UT. One our pass rush will make our pass defense better no rush, they will score a lot. Qb play, control the clock for their defense is ass and starting a slew of new people and there best lineman have all transferred out and the best linebacker tore acl Going to have to score when the opportunity arises and not all field goals either. If they do that should have a good chance.
Again, not sure where you got this. You've got some of this right and a lot wrong. LB Brendan Ferns tore his ACL for the second (third?) time but he was not our top LB, rJr David Long is. He injured his meniscus but will play this year, we're just not sure when. He played lights out last year...kid is a stud.
Both our OT are returning and have been called "elite" in the Big 12 by our reporters. Of course that may be reporters throwing out a little raw meet for our fanbase.
OG Sills was a very good starter last season and is returning. Our other guard, Hardy, saw some spot duty last season and did alright. His potential, though, is pretty high according to our writers.
It seems last years starting C who started every game has lost his spot to rSo Jacob Buccigrossi.
That was all the bad news for you all. The good news for you is that we are thin at several positions both offensively and defensively. Given how critical it is for an OL to work in sync an injury could really cause problems. Holgs has schollied several JUCOs/Grad transfers to fill the thin spots.
Lastly, I know the Grier-Steroid thing is just ribbing but to set the record straight, it's not like he was shooting HGH. He took an over the counter product and didn't clear it with the coaches. He humbly apologized publicly and took his punishment. Tough lesson to have learned publically as a kid. God knows I wouldn't want some of my failings to have had that much publicity.
