While the payouts from the SEC office are the same, schools are responsible for the travel expenses to and from the bowl site. UT will save enough on those on the players to invite more worthless administrators and paper pushers to the bowl. It’s about the money boys. Once you recognize that, everything makes sense.

One word :RECRUITING. Nashville gives Pruitt a chance to build relationships with mid-state recruits.

would sure love him to build some relationships down here in Florida........tons of talent and FSU and Miami are on the rocks right now. Plus, as I've said in other posts, Gator bowl is the only game of the day and more people will be watching which = more recruits watching and getting exposed to Tennessee football.

The payouts don't matter...all that goes to the league office and distributed to all sec schools in the bowls or not...

Actually it does based on what I read this morning the way the bowl money goes....The higher the bowl payout the higher % the 2 teams get for expenses etc....After the 2 teams payout what's left is sent to the conference office to be split with the conference teams. UT will get a little over $500,000 more playing in the MCB than the Gator.

Memphis gets into one of the six major bowls.

Alabama does not.

LOL!
They've been good for so long, it's hard to feel bad for them. But I do feel they've been done wrong. JMO, maybe I'm wrong.

**Edit** the more I think about it...I'm wrong
