How to scalp tickets?

Im going to try and go down to neyland and see if I can get a pair of tix to get in. Im willing to wait until right up until kickoff or even 5-10 minutes after. How should I go about it, where should I go, how do I signal that I am looking for a pair of tix. Cheers.

Last I heard the Arky game wasn't sold out. You should try the ticket office. I mean as in calling them today.

Theres always that fat dude standing in front of the stadium right after the Vol walk....He seems to always have at least 16 pairs....Never bought any from a scalper though, just always see that same guy...

there are always tons of scalpers before the game, so you should be able to find some tickets.

Walk down the strip and in front of the stadium, you won't have to signal anyone for tickets you will see plenty of people waving them in your face and yelling "2 tickets" over and over.

Walk up and down Phillip Fulmer Way with 2 fingers in the air. After what I saw with the ticket situation for the SC game, you should have sellers descending on you begging you to buy tickets.

I sold 2 tickets about 2 hours prior to the game for $70 and then walked down to the stadium and was looking to just dump 2 more so I could get in the stadium and ended up letting them both go for $20. There are always people trying to unload tickets due to last minute cancellations. It's just a matter of how long you are willing to wait.

I'd avoid anybody with a wad of tickets or carrying an "I need tickets" sign and just look for the regular looking guy who looks antsy and just wants to get it over with so he can go into the stadium.

I had an opposite experience at a Georgia v. Tennessee game two years ago. Tickets were scarce, and the price kept going up even into the first quarter.

When you get to Knoxville, if you can find decent seats for $100/ticket or so, just buy them and never look back. If you don't, you'll walk around talking to jerks who want your money all day. Don't ruin your tailgate.

Also, check Craigslist in Memphis and Nashville. It's not too late to have a pair of tickets overnighted to you.

If you're cheap like me, stand on the strip; I believe it's Cumberland. Catch fans as they make their way to the stadium; hold up two fingers, and you'll find someone with extra tix. Leave the scalpers alone.

Yea, never had a problem scalping tickets. Check with the average joe's in tailgating areas. Even got UF tickets face value one year.

I went to the SC game and saw scalpers through out the parking lots. What we did was get a little map of the stadium and asked several scalpers where the seats are and how much. Dont get the first person you ask as prices vary depending on the section. We got a good price for section q at 70 bucks for a pair which were under face value. We aimed for lower level but if you dont mind upper level u should have no problem.

A lot of the scalping is done at the corner of Phillip Fulmer and Cumberland by the University Center.

This game tickets will not be expensive. Arkansas is a long way from Knoxville. Look for a pair to be $50 or less. If you can wait, I have literally seen people with tickets for sale throw them on the ground because they wanted to get into the stadium.

Don't even bother looking more than an hour before the game.

At 11:45 or so, you'll see more tickets out there this week than you'll know what to do with. Have your seating chart with you and you'll have your pick of the stadium.

I wouldn't offer more than $20/ticket.

I'll end up getting a single for about $5-10 myself...lower level.

there is a guy in a green blazer right in front of the bookstore (philip fulmer way) on game days. he's been there for years and years. he is reasonable and has a load of tickets to choose from. nice guy. my wife and i bought our sc tickets from him for $30 a piece. he had some cheaper than that.

The above is undoubtedly the worst advice you will receive.

I will guarantee you (if I don't find some freebies beforehand) that I will pay less than face value for decent seats, see pregame and the "T," and have no problem doing so. Just go to PFW right in front of the stadium about 30-45 minutes before kickoff. It's really not that complicated.

Oh, and if you aren't well acquainted with the stadium, it would behoove you to take a seating map.

Agree, you will have no problem finding seats. Do Not buy from the first person you see. Do ask everyone (even the mega-scalpers) to get an idea of the prices. Also bring a seating chart (there is one in the $5 programs they sell).

At SC this year, I ran into this younger guy with a couple of ladies with him. He sold us 3 tickets on the 50, 24 rows up from UT bench for $50 each!

I agree. It's ridiculous to suggest paying $100 a ticket unless you are just completely averse to walking around and prone to an anxiety attack or something. The tickets may be expensive for Florida, Alabama and Georgia, but I can't imagine that you wouldn't be able to get tickets for Arkansas for around face value at worst. At the SC game, the sellers outnumbered the buyers by probably 3 to 1.

And if you do this, then don't forget to take a couple extra $100 bills incase they run out of toilet paper in the stadium.

Seriously, just hold two fingers in the air as you approach the stadium. You will not have a problem getting tickets for face or less.

I have never once in the past 8 years or so had a real problem finding tickets. I have only missed one game this year due to oversleep and I have spent a total of $25 on tickets. Just wait it out and you will either find freebies or you will find some cheap. I used to buy season tix until my friends came down and ended up on the 1st row Vs UF for $5 each buying from a scalper. Since then I swore to play the scalper game and have a lot of fun messing with them after a six pack. Just remember they want your $$$ and there are normally a lot more of them selling than people buying.

Just find me. I'll have a pair for $100 per. I'll even deliver anywhere in the metro Knoxville area for that price.

the key is going into it with a set price in your head that you want to spend or be thinking about the most you are WILLING to spend.

the best way to get tickets is make a lowball offer and when the scalper counters with his offer, which will be higher that yours, laugh and walk off. chances are he will chase you down and just work his first price lower and lower until you are satisfied.

if he doesn't chase you down, his loss, not yours.

Or just give him a roundhouse kick to the temple and take his tickets. And if he give's you any lip, tell him that Chuck Norris is watching.

You people really know how to make a guy feel stupid. Here I've been thinking I was getting a deal buying tickets on ebay the last 3 years. :banghead2: An hour ago paying 180-230 for a pair in sec C row 3 seemed smart. Now I just really really feel stupid. :sick: I'm glad I havn't bought any this year.
