If the citizenship question is added to the census ... and somehow has teeth, wanna bet the sanctuary cities spin overnight? If illegals don't count toward the numbers for apportionment or representatives in the house, I got a feeling their kind of diversity suddenly won't be in demand.

Just like this post is a monument to stupidity, immigration laws are already on the books, should we tear down the walls around all the prisons and renegotiate the laws they were convicted of breaking? Secure the damn border now, then you can ****ing negotiate as to new immigration policy not before. The only stupidity is the lack of action by the Dems.

That seems to be one of the big issues; nobody keeps up with the people who came legally but overstayed their visa. Generally the corrective action would be to stop admitting anybody until it's under control ... like grounding defective planes, or issuing safety recalls. Nobody has reason to believe rules and laws mean anything if they aren't enforced. What you are suggesting is exactly how it should be done.

That's the incredible part. We can't seem to manage immigration laws as they exist right now ... something like walking or crawling, and people want to ramp them up into a version that equates to running. Why give the government more power when it can't manage what it's currently doing? To think it could correctly do more perfectly fits the definition of insanity.

Umm yes that's actually a good idea. A large number of people are in jail because of outdated laws that don't serve the public need. Exact same can be said for immigration. We need to have real discussions on needs and rewrite the outdated laws

Neither party wants to do anything real and they're both acting like children

1. No one shot anything down. It was a joke at best and never seriously considered. Anyone saying other wise is relying on those old CNN anonymous sources who knew an anonymous source who knew someone in the administration who heard while walking a hall in the White house.

2. If safety is a huge concern why is there no wall? Why is there no mine field? Why are they all not rounded up and dumped back down south? If safety is a concern why are their cities that welcome illegals if they can make it there?
