How to have success against Georgia

Come out fast, whether it is on defense or offense
Hang on to the ball, no turnovers
Throw it over the middle for about 5 or 6 yards, moving the chains.
Try to get 3 or 4 yards a push rushing the ball, no penalties.
Throw it away from Baker, by lining up JJ on one side, and Callaway on the other.
Defense:
Load the box, stop the run the best you can.
Put 8 up there, and make them throw the ball.
Cornerbacks has to do the best they can, to stay with the receivers.
Whoever is watching the tight ends, running backs, and whoever else sneaking out for a pass, has to get out there to cover.
Rush Fromm and put pressure on him every play, or every other play.
Wrap up and tackle, push the running back backwards.
What else do we have to lose by doing these things?
Oh well! Pruitt can have a chance to beat Smart.

Vols can start by blocking, tackling and making fewer mistakes.

I'd probably throw 70 times. Running plays will largely be wasted downs. I'd move JG around, throw screens, slants, rollouts. I'd prob put in one or 2 extra tackles at the TE position. Forget about him reading the D, it ain't gonna happen. Take or or two quick looks and it it isn't there, run/slide or throw it into the stands.

Dominate the turnover ratio and field position games.

Need to get some cheap scores and make them work for everything they get tomorrow in long drives.

If they give up turnovers early and bust coverages in the secondary giving them long scores it will be the FloridaGame 2.0. Probably worse.

You do realize any decent DC will make adjustments at the half and then with UGA's talent on defense, proceed to crush UT the 2nd half. With that scenario, Georgia's defense will send pressure and get to JG often, while dropping into man coverage against UT's WR's all day. Some looks for JG may be there, but with pressure and as he's being chased aggressively, he's accuracy will be affected.

I do realize this. I also realize we have zero chance to win. I'd try something unexpected. If we run, run, pass like we have so far we'll be lucky to keep it to a 60 point margin.

My first day as a student at UGA was the day we beat Bama 18-17 as a 31 point underdog. There is no such thing as zero chance in football.

I'd bet that Eric Berry hit would be targeting in today's game. Someone may have already said that, didn't through the thread.

theFallGuy, I think you're on to something here. If UGA comes out overly confident, I suppose it's possible for us to win the toss, take the opening kickoff, and it's pretty much game on from there. At that point, I'd say we try to get Guantanamo a couple of tries to complete some passes and pick up a few first downs, get us down to the 10 yard line or so, to get into FG range. If we can take a 3-0 lead, I would propose to Coach Puitt that we take a delay of game on the ensuing kickoff. After the 5 yard penalty, we'll take another delay of game. If the game never resumes, I suppose UGA can't get the ball back. All of this is contingent on winning the opening toss, of course.

Probably the best way to beat Georgia is to score more points than they do. That is going to be super tough. Anybody have any other ideas? Is there another way like maybe catching the golden snitch or something ?
Use the student section as our o line

Hope they only score 16 cause I do not see us scoring more than 17 even if we play lights out.....................

Run the QB. Unfortunately we don't do that in this offense. You have to have a guy they can't account for. This offense we're running doesn't have the right personnel for it right now. Square peg round hole deal all over again. I do know that if they want to run this offense against the likes of Georgia and Alabama they better get the 5 star guy they have committed and a few more. You have to push those guys backward and we don't have anyone that can push them backward right now. Going to be hard to run that offense in the SEC without quality linemen.
I know it's impossible, but if we came out on offense first possession and ran that Georgia Tech option on the dawgs I'd be crackin up!

Bad memories from 2003 against UGA come to mind. Run a toss sweep and fumble, then watch helplessly as defender takes it 95 yards the other way for a TD.
