How this football season plays out for UT

They are already laying for UT in Lexington..... I've heard some things that will push the limit.... After watching Tennessee's defense against SC, I think Woodson puts 650 yards on the Vols....

does that include interception return yardage or something?

Why the switcheroo? Didn't you make a thread asking people to guess how many combined yards rushing McFadden and Jones would have on UT?

I haven't switched. UT gave up 501 yds offense to SC, I think the 85th rated offense in Div 1.

I'm just saying those guys not being at 100% will improve UT's chances. Plus UT has the SEC East riding on the game.

Arkansas is terrible. McFadden's not doing anything this year and UT should be able to hold him to 70-80 yards. UT wins that game pretty easy.

Here's the logic, or lack thereof, behind that statement...

Given the way UT has played, especially on defense, it stands to reason that Arkansas (running), and Kentucky (passing) will give the defense fits. Depending on which UT team shows up for those two games, both could go either way.

Hence, a possible 7-5 record. And while UT is in the driver's seat in the SEC East, we've had a bunch more blown engines than checkered flags the last few years.

We are who we are. It's really just that simple.

I really don't see how an analysis of the '07 squad could give any reasonable fan confidence that the VOLS will run the table.

We are just not a good team, plain and simple. So many deficiencies, too many to list really. I can only think of one thing we do well, that's protect our QB. We did play one good game, Georgia obviously, but the Arky, Kentucky and Vandy games all look like dogfights to me, and I just don't see us being tough enough to win all 3...

I don't have a problem with optimism, I'd love to see the program turn around and the VOLS go 45-5 over the next 50 games like we did in the late 90s, but honestly, how can anyone but only the most impossibly dellusional VOL fanatic think this program can make that kind of turn around?

My prediction. We lose at least 1 more SEC game and the @$% gators will sneak into the title game.
