im hopin CLK gets us back to NC contention within 2-3 years

i think he learned a lot from pete out at USC, maybe he can become a master recruiter and bring us back to prominance, remember 05 was terrible, and our 06 team came out and did a hell of a job........

Please tell me that you aren't putting Kiffin and Saban in the same class.. No offense, but I think we can find someone better to compare with that.. Urban I understand, because I hope Kiff can live up to what Urban has done, but please not Saban.. :cray:

That clearly went over your head. And I'm not sure how 1 NC and two SEC Championships is more impressive than 2 NCs and two SEC Championships. Carry on.

who really cares we are talking about states that embarass the south..let them talk all they want it's only talk anyway what matters is on the field we had our run and we will have another...but never take these punks seriously

Ask yourself this? How many of those people you talked to actually know what is going on on The Hill?

How many of them are only repeating what they are seeing/hearing out of most of the national media and ESPN?

Also, consider the fact that most of the country was not aware of Fulmer's shortcomings in recent years.

In most non-SEC and non-UT fans eyes we just replaced a HOF, NC winning coach with a young upstart who is brash and confident and is seen as overpriveleged and getting by on his Daddy's name while making ridiculous comments about respected coaches.

The fact is that most everyone outside of Volnation does not understand the dynamics of UT football and how bad things had really gotten under Fulmer. They only see the sensationalist reporting of recruiting violations and accusations.

The only thing that really matters is how the players on the field, the fans in the stands and the recruits in highschool feel about us and the new staff is doing just fine in those areas.

I have heard very little negative from people who's opinion I respect.

He was a perfect fit for their O and was a top 10 WR. You're right that he wasn't as coveted as Andre Dubose but he was one of their major targets and Urban is pissed about not getting him.

Nuke is the type of guy Urban wanted to replace Brandon James.

Explain to me how Meyer has proven to be a better recruiter than the 2-time national recruiter of the year.

I don't give a damn what Meyer has done or does at UF. It's not nearly as impressive as what Coach O did at Miami under Jimmy Johnson or how Coach O helped rebuild USC.

Meyer came into the UF job that already had a lot of talent and was lacking coaching. He has done a great job recruiting but winning a NC with Zook's players certainly helped get the ball rolling on that.

Long time lurker, 1st time posting though. and if any of this has already been posted let it be known that I didn't feel like reading through every single page of the thread.

Many people like to talk about how kiffin only went 5-15 at Oakland, so he is gonna end up being a garbage coach in college, what is overlooked is the fact that Oaklands offense went from being 28th in the league in rushing before kiffin to 6th under kiffin. Not to mention the fact that kiffin had no input at all in the personnel he had to work with. I don't know if anyone has looked at Oaklands roster lately but it isn't exactly the AFC probowl team.

Let people think what they want, I'm optimistic about our new coach. I don't expect miracles right away, but I do think we will surprise some teams, and their fans.

The Nukeese Richardson debate is laughable at best. If you weigh 165 in this league, you better run a 4.3 40. Not a 4.5 40.
