I'm sick of reading thru all these threads saying the same stuff so I'm starting a poll on this. So in your opinion how much does losing DR hurt us on a scale of one to ten.

I'm gonna 8, now the defense only has to worry bout two wide outs, until a freshman can step up..

We go 6-6, Dooley is fired and we lose all our recruits.

I'd say it's about an 8. People keep saying CP will just step in and fill his shoes, but that's not really whats happened here. Patterson was going to be playing either way. Now we're back to having Zach Rogers as the third option at WR, and there's no way you can spin that tadeoff other than to say it's a massive, massive, massive downgrade. We all know the o-line can't run block very well, but we could at least hope spreading the field with 3 elite WR's could help open some space and we might be able to run enough to keep teams honest. That's now all out the window. IMO it takes us from a team who could have won 8 games to a team that will more likely win 6 with an absolute ceiling of 7 wins.

I'll go 8 bc our top wr is coming off an acl, and the other doesn't even know the entire play book yet. We are dangerously thin at te, so that's less of a threat. Nah, change that, going with a 9.

All depends if Hunter is back 100% and if Patterson is all he is hyped to be. If all that is true I went with 6 cause with Rogers we could had been impossible to cover!!!!

7. Its very significant. He was a pro type WR already and with Patterson and Hunter running deep posts/slants and the sheer athletic ability to just out jump and muscle the ball away from any defender in the country. And the you have to cover a freak like Rick? That's unstoppable. I don't like Jessie Palmer but I agreed with him today he said "Tennessee DID have the best receiving core in the country bar none" Now the receiving core is still in good shape but wont impose their will as much as not having all 3. I'm still stoked about this season more so then any before this past few years but the wind got taken out of the sails a Tad with one selfish act.

We still win 8 games but in my opinion we had a real shot at 10 wins this season. Think about how defense would game plan for our offense with all 3 of those freaks. Now it gets a ton easier IMO

We went from having an "unstoppable" offense to having a good offense. No way teams could have stopped us with D. Rogers, Hunter, CP, Rivera. Much easier to stop 2 WR than 3 WR. DOn't think trading Zach for Da'Rick is going to be very good in our favor.

Its addition by subtraction. It will help lockerroom and team chemistry. Also it gives Croom, Howard, or Bowles a chance to shine and fill the slot since CP and JH are the clear 1 and 2

I got it at a 7. This could easily cost UT a game or two.

Beats me, with that kind of size, I can see how you would think that. Nevertheless, we barely managed 60 rushing yards against Kentucky last year. That tells you all you should need to now.

4. Hopefully this will end up being a character building exercise for the younger players to step up.

I say a 5 cause I like 5, seriously it will hurt early but hopefully CP is the real deal everyone thinks and our freshmen grow up real fast

Do we know he hurt team chemistry? In high school our star player was constantly on the verge of getting booted from the team. Didn't do his school work and constantly in trouble off the field. In our locker room though, we all loved him. He was the leader of our team.

The problem is the younger WR's are all hurt right now. We're pretty much left with JH, DR and two scrubs at WR. The freshman may get healthy later in the year and get on the field, but if we lose to NC St. and Florida, there will probably be no getting it back on the tracks at that point.

i said 8 based on Justin Hunter's absence and how that impacted our season in '11. Hope i'm wrong though.
