How much is enough?

My friends and I were sitting around the other day discussing how much money they would want in the bank before they retire. I realize this depends on your lifestlye. Just wanting some opinions here. How much would you want in the bank(including your pension) before you retire?

Assuming you retire at 60 and you are healthy, if you have no debts, you wouldn't need more than about a half mil. That should last you 10-15 years.

I'd be looking for at least 25 years past 60.

If I was assured my current level of income throughout my retirement years, I'd be very happy (provided I had long-term care/health insurance to go with it).
